Emily woke up with a sudden start of an alarm clock. She groaned as she threw the alarm clock at the wall. "Ugh.."
Her head was aching badly. She took a thermometer and checked her temperature. 102.4, "Yep I've got a fever" Emily groaned. She walked to the kitchen for pancakes," Morning sweetie! I made some pancakes."
"Hey, mom" Emily stood by the pancakes and stared at them. "Oh- I'm not hungry"
"Are you feeling sick? You love pancakes!"
"Well, I have a fever of about er.. 102.3-" Emily started
"102. 3?! A-any other symptoms..?" Emily's mom cut her off.
"Well, I was sweating and had trouble sleeping but other than that I'm fine.."
Emily's mother stared at her for a few minutes in shock. She was lost for words. Then, she said softly," Sweetie, have I ever told you about your father..?"
