"Meimei.. Are you sure you want to continue? Can't you ask for another type of alliance? Your fiancé never even tried to get along with you! There are rumors that he is actually dating his advisor.." Himeko said
"Himeko, this is my decision. The alliance must be made.." Mei said
'I don't have a choice.. The hostility between our kingdoms has been ongoing for far too long.. I need to do my duty as the heir..' Mei thought
"ATTENTION!! LOCK THE WHOLE PALACE DOWN AND SEACRH FOR THE CROWN PRINCE!"
They went out of the room and asked the knights what the problem was.
"There is no problem princess!"
"Lying to the princess is an act of betrayal!" Himeko warned
The knight immediately went to his knees and apologized
"Apologies Princess! The Okogi prince went missing, we are trying to find him!"
"Did you hear that Meimei? He is missing! That's great!" Himeko said
'It is not.. Our alliance would break apart..' Mei thought
"Silence! Don't make a ruckus. This is the palace, it is a great disrespect for our princess!"
"We apologize Commander.."
"Princess.. The king is asking for your presence at the meeting hall.."
Mei nodded and went away, the portraits of her ancestors made her feel ashamed as she didn't dare to look at them.
'The fault was mine.. I wasn't able to convince him to stay..' Mei thought as she gripped her dress
When she got to the meeting hall, the knights opened the door and bowed to her.
She got in and saw how her father was arguing with the Okogi's king.
"This could lead into a bigger war than we had.."
"I understand but nothing could be done.. Nobody knew where he went.."
"What are we supposed to announce? The marriage is tomorrow..!"
"Father.." Mei interrupted
"Ah.. Mei.. You're here.." Sho said
"The alliance will continue without marriage.. The Okogi will be responsible for this.."
"No.. That will affect the trust of the nobles.. The marriage must continue."
"But my oldest son left! My youngest son is merely a 7 years old! That cannot happen!"
"The marriage must continue somehow..!"
"My daughter.. She could replace him! She is one of them!"
"What do you mean?" Sho asked
"My daughter is a hermaphrodite.."
"But marriage between women?"
"There are no regulation that restricts the same gender in getting married.."
'Marrying the Okogi princess..? The one sought to be a women's ideal partner.. Then if she was mine- No, what am I thinking, It isn't like that..' Mei thought as her ears redden
"But, this is too sudden! Do you have your daughter's consent?"
"No.. But I'm sure she would understand.."
"Mei, will you be able to ask a knight outside to summon the princess?"
Before Mei could do anything, the Okogi king stopped her.
