A man smiled at a child beside him on the train

she said "Hello Sir, what is your name?"

but even before he had a chance to answer,

"Don't talk to strangers" her mom said to her.

Walking down an empty road she saw her neighbor with her friends.

Many times, they called her over to the road's end,

she continued to walk as if she didn't hear.

"Don't talk to strangers" Mother's words were very clear.

On her way to work she stopped by the cafe for some frappe,

She stumbled upon a boy wearing a cap,

He smiled at her, mumbling the word 'Sorry'

She answered, "It was my fault, don't worry"

"Hey, why don't you let me buy you a coffee"

Then she remembered what her mom said,
and tried to walk away in a hurry.

He called her name which he read from her cup

She looked at him and thought, "It's just a coffee, toughen up"

So she sat with him and enjoyed his presence
Forgetting her mom's words and not minding her conscience.

Day after day, it became a routine.
She felt genuinely happy, high in love and caffeine

It was until he started arriving late and sometimes not at all.
Days went on without seeing him, she started to bawl.

As she was sitting inside the cafe one morning,
She saw him with another girl entering,
Her heart sank as she stood up and ran outside
She wanted to scream, a part of her died.

With a heavy heart she rode the train not knowing where it was heading,
A child sat beside her and asked, "Why are you crying?"
It made her cry more, it was hard for her to answer
but then the child's mom whispered "Don't talk to a stranger"

The child out of curiousity asked her mom "What reason do you have?"

The girl mumbled the answer to herself, "You might fall in love."
