After what felt like only twenty minutes had passed I checked the clock to see it was nearly 6 pm, giving me about an hour to get ready. I scrambled out of bed and into my closet with a collective sigh, opening a few more of the cardboard boxes to peer inside. It still felt very strange to see all of my belongings packed away, to where I couldn't see them. I remembered from the article that it had said it was in an average part of Delvin near Mulingar and settled on black skinny jeans paired with a black long sleeve and a simple tee over saying 'Live to Love.' Paired with a striped scarf and black wedges I gave myself a once-over in the mirror giving myself a small approving nod. I had never been the most curvy girl per say, and I never tried to eventuate my average sized breasts, but my slightly larger than normal bum was there, looking pretty good in my jeans if I dare think so in my head...
I applied a light concealer and only a little bit of mascara for my naturally long eyelashes. The last touch was red lip gloss and a small bag for my phone and other essentials for emergencies... I quickly grabbed the address for the aquarium and put it in my bag. I was not the sort of girl to obsess over myself but I still hoped I wasn't the only one dressing this casually edgy. I hurried downstairs, looking around for my mom. I saw her sitting at the couch and grabbed her car keys from the counter calling out to her, "Hey mom, I'll be back soon enough. Don't wait up for me alright?"
She turned her head back to look at me and smiled, nodding. "You look really nice Jojo! Where are you off to?"
I cringed at the nickname she had given as a child but quickly smiled at her compliment. "Thank you... Just an aquarium opening thing... See you later!" And before she could reply I was out the door, buckling up in the driver’s side, gunning it out of the driveway and onto the main road...
By the time I had pulled up to the aquarium it was half past seven. Well, it was never a bad thing to be fashionably late I thought with a wry smile. I locked the car behind me, walking up the steps towards the new-looking structure. It was tall and all glass paned, looking beautifully sleek in the moonlight from above. I could see a large crowd from the outside, and only hoped they were all busy talking. I pushed the heavy metal door open, immediately wincing at the grating sound of it scraping across the ground. Instantly all eyes seemed glued to me and the interruption I was making. Only too late had I realized an elderly man was making a speech nearby and looked quite annoyed at my thoughtless intrusion. I blushed lightly, quickly closing the door behind me and hurrying into the crowd to hide my bashful self.
"This has always been my life-long dream,.." The man continued, "Ever since I was a little boy I wanted to be as close as I could with the fish and dolphins... They are my pride and joy..." I started daydreaming off of his speech, my eyes drifting up to the spacious room and tall ceiling, instantly seeing a second floor. I looked over the crowd, noticing everyone was wearing very expensively matched attire although a pair of deep ocean blue eyes brought my attention to the figure standing merely 10 feet away. He seemed to have mostly dark brown hair with a few wisps of blonde in there, and there were those deep blue eyes... I looked down his body noticing he was dressed casual, yet still seemed to pull off the 'I tried hard to put this together' look. Adorning a grey button up that was easy to notice the rippling muscles beneath and nicely fitted jeans, I couldn't take my eyes off of this stranger. I found him undeniably attractive and blushed redder when I saw he had caught me staring. He instantly did the same thing, his eyes seeming to brighten a little taking in the sight of me. His left eye fell into a casual wink before he turned back to the elderly man, slamming me out of my trance.
"We hope you enjoy the exhibits! Thank you very much!" The man finished, stepping down from a small podium. I saw the blue-eyed-boy (I decided this is what I would call him seeming as this was his most noticeably cute trait) turn instantly in my direction heading towards me. I impulsively turned on my heel, hurrying up the stairs to the second floor to see the tanks of fish up there. The crowd hid me expertly, and I quickly snaked through the hoard of people, finding a small globe shaped display, opening up into a secluded area. I took a deep breath and entered there, knowing it would be a good hiding place for now.
