Why do I write?
Writing is a way to express yourself when you don't know how to do so.
For some, including me, it can be hard to show emotion,
to express our feelings,
to people we know personally anyway.
In a sense, it can be your own personal freedom,
your diary,
your supposed safe space.
It can serve to transform the intangibility of your emotions and experiences into something more,
it can make it as though your feelings are real when you see them written out in front of you.
Yes, writing your thoughts and feelings down doesn't solve your problem, or make those thoughts go away,
but you do get a sense of relief knowing you finally got it out,
especially when you can't, or don't want to talk about it with people in person.
