Jasmine breathed slowly, taking deep breaths to calm herself down as she heard the click of Carmilla's heels on the wood floor. She knew Dracula wouldn't let her get caught or found, but she still took his words to heart. Slowly, and on tiptoe, she crept to the door, looking through the keyhole into Drac's study. The room was dim due to the low fire, but not so dark that she couldn't see Drac and Carmilla near the fireplace.
"Yes?" She asked cockily with a hand on her hip.
Jasmine narrowed her eyes, hating the arrogant white haired woman. She acknowledged that Carmilla made a great villain, and that was all she'd acknowledged.
In the meantime, Drac had given the woman a stern look, warning her that she was crossing boundaries.
Carmilla, not willing to further antagonise the Vampire King, straightened her shoulders and took a soldier at rest pose.
"You wished to speak to me, My Lord?" She asked, far more polite than she recently had been."That was a dramatic entrance Carmilla." Dracula's tone made it clear that dramatic or not, he was not impressed.
Carmilla responded without a blink. "It was not meant to disrespect you; it was intended to unsettle a room full of men. I prefer in such situations to arrive with as many advantages as possible."
"And how is it that you're here?"
Carmilla turned her head. "Godbrand has been keeping me appraised of your castle's position. Your current location was also advantageous."
Dracula kept pressing her. Jasmine too, was still as a statue at the door, listening with every cell of her body to their conversation. She didn't trust Carmilla as far as she could throw her, and she probably couldn't throw her very far.
Dracula's alarm bells sounded an alarm. GodBrand had been spying for her. Spying. "And why has GodBrand been in regular communication with you?" He pressed.
"I suspect he still wants to sleep with me."
"And will you?" Dracula's question was direct and to the point. The white haired woman giggled, appearing the shy and bashful persona she threw up. But it had no affect on Dracula; who saw through her ruse now that he was wise to it, and Jasmine, who knew her history.
"From another man, that would be impossible impertinence." Her tone made it clear she'd prefer to drop it, or redirect him from the question.
"And yet, I prefer to know my General's ties and compromises." His tone made it clear he wouldn't let the issue go.
Carmilla smiled a thin smile.
"I may, if all the other Vampire males in the world drop dead, and half the females. Some of the Animals..."
Chuckling despite himself, because her statement had caught him off guard.
"Very good, Carmilla. Speaking of impertinence, you just denounced the choice not to turn my dead wife. In front of all my generals." His smile morphed slowly into a sharp eyed glare.
"What advantage does my anger buy you?"
Carmilla gave him a cold smile.
"None. It's a question they have all been asking themselves. I gave you an opportunity to address it, My Lord."
"Oh, so you were helping me." His sarcastic tone made it clear what he thought of her "help."
"Of course My Lord." Carmilla's voice was full of empty platitudes and they both knew it.
