The drawing above is how I see y/n, she has poliosis which is lack of pigmentation in the hair, that's why she has a lighter section in front. And she has (I tried) Japanese features but obviously it's y/n so just you with the hair.

When Izuku is translating for y/n in this chapter it looks as if y/n is speaking but I don't want to write the same sentence twice.

Settling down in your seat before class, sending Izuku a few snide comments with your hands before your teacher gained your attention with a very long sigh.

You turned to see an even more tired Mr. Aizawa wrapped in his bright yellow sleeping bag.

Like always, he reminded you of a large worm and you found it funny when he talked around the hair in his face. "Due to the craziness of yesterday, I was not able to introduce y/n."

A flurry of confusion raised in not only your mind but everyone around you as well.

"y/n is mute. She will probably have a little extra trouble communicating so please be nice."

That was a little blunt wouldn't you say.

You were not informed that you would be put on blast this early into school, hoping to ease everyone into it. But I guess this works too.

You caught the sight of a familiar hand and turned to your brother.

"You alright?" His face was mostly a straight expression, but his question seemed layered.

Scoffing and shaking your head wasn't a proper answer for him apparently, so you raised your hands replying, "Ya, fine."

Still a little salty that you didn't get a say in the matter, you knew it was for yours and the whole class's benefit, you turned back to a retreating Aizawa.

"Excuse me, I need to go see Present Mic." Not before leaving through the door of the classroom he added, "Behave please."

The class erupted in the usual talking and forming of spread out groups. Though one energetic blonde was able to sneak up on you.

"Y/n, hey." loud enough for the whole class to hear which you were a bit annoyed about but what could you expect from Denki.

You hadn't had time to really get to know Denki but you had definitely noticed his loud aura. It was a little much but it was also nice, different from your usual calm silence.

He sat backwards in the seat in front of you and gave you the corniest smile you had ever seen. He was trying to butter you up so you wouldn't get mad at his next question.

"So have you ever spoken or."

"Hey do-" Izuku had stood up at this point and started walking over to you.
