It had been a long time since Rose went out. As in properly out. With someone.

She pulled on a stretchy pair of jeans and a T-shirt, before moving to pick some shoes. She'd still rather select the ones to run into, even after all this time. After applying some light makeup, she curled her hair into some nice curls, sprayed some perfume, and grabbed her bag.

She opened the drawer to her nightstand and stared. Rose was unsure if to take it. They might run into trouble, as usual, so maybe taking the gun would be a good decision. And yet, there was something behind her mind that told her not to.

It's not like she needed one back on the TARDIS. But now this Doctor was human; she had to protect him. But at the same time, it felt as if she had no trust in him. This was the Doctor, the real Doctor, as she's earlier established.

The Doctor.

Rose smiled, running a hand over her face. It was him. And she had kissed him. And he had kissed her back and told her he loved her. How much she had wished for this moment to come. Maybe these were different circumstances but...it felt good.

She gently tapped her cheeks, looking in the mirror. Yes, she was going to leave the gun home.

Rose opened the door to the mansion and exited. The Doctor was already waiting in the car. Surprisingly, in the driver's seat. Rose cocked an eyebrow.

„You can drive?" she sat in the passenger's seat. „Although, wait, don't answer that. I've seen your driving skills before. Just...try not to kill us."

„Oi!" he exclaimed. „Might I remind you I was the driver of a time machine?"

Rose rolled her eyes. There it was.

„Also," he continued. „Had a car before. Her name was Betsy."

„Betsy?" she made a face. „That's something you'd call a cow."

„You are so rude!"

But he was smiling. He and Rose were going on a date. It was exciting. He hadn't been on a date in...well...years. Not after she had gotten stuck in this world.

And she finally knew it was him. Rose knew. And it felt amazing.

They drove off with the Doctor maneuvering the car with care, but he struggled with the brakes, as Rose noticed. She chose not to say anything though.

It was a Saturday, so naturally, the roads were full.

„Might we take a detour?" she asked.

When they arrived at the destination, the Doctor looked at her confused.

„Powell Estate?" he raised a brow.

„Did you actually think I live with my parents full time?" she shrugged. „I needed a place of my own. Something that would...you know...somewhere I could run off to if I ever needed to."

He beamed. „Never stop running."

She turned the keys and the door opened. It was the same apartment as the one from the other universe, but slightly different. Rose opted for a rather simple design. It wasn't as cluttered as the one back home. There wasn't a lot of ‚Jackie' around.

„Mickey used to live here too." she threw the bag on the sofa.

„You lived together?"

„Hm?" she opened the cupboard to grab two cups. „Oh no. He also had a place in Cardiff. This was just for when he came to visit and wanted to run away from mum."
