Sunday after the race

I was standing waiting for Lewis to finish his interview after finishing the race when George came up to me. I rolled my eyes knowing why he was coming over to me

"Please can you just go out with me for one date?" he asked

"You just don't give up do you?" I asked him

"Nope. Not when I know what I want." He replied

"Fine. Yes." I said

"Really?" he questioned

"Yes," I replied

"Great." He replied smiling "I'll pick you up in the reception at 8." He said before walking away

I only agreed to get him to stop annoying me so I could have a peaceful night. I had no intention of actually going. But a small, really small part of me wanted to go. So, for once in a long time, I listened to that part when Lewis asked, surprising myself and him but I went for it.

"Hey, so you coming to dinner with us to celebrate?" Lewis asked as we walked back to the motorhome

"No, I'm not," I replied

"How come?" he asked

"I am going out with George," I replied

"So, you finally said yes to him." He said

"Yep. I deserve to get treated; I haven't been out in years." I replied

"Ok I'm glad but be nice to him he's a good guy." He replied

"I am nice and we'll see about that. It's not like I'm serious about this I just deserve a nice night out getting treated by a guy." I replied

"Ok. We'll have fun and come by my room after I want to hear about your date." He said

"1. It's not a date and 2. There's not going to be anything to tell you." I replied

"Yeah, sure there won't be." He replied sarcastically

"Oh, shut up." I said shoving him smiling "there won't be but I'll come by for you. Your love life must be terrible if you're so invested in mine." I said

"Oh, fuck off. Mine is completely fine. Is it wrong for me to want to see you happy?" he replied

"No, but I highly doubt I will be for a long time," I replied

"I wouldn't be so sure." He replied

"Whatever," I replied

We left the conversation there. We headed back to the hotel and I showered and got ready to go out. I put on a nice dress and did the hair and make-up. I took some pictures in the mirror. It's been a long time since I've been on a date and got dressed up for one.

I headed out and when the lift doors opened on the ground floor George was standing waiting for me in a white buttoned-up shirt and grey striped trousers. I did haft to admit he looked good smiling there at me.

Y/N keep it together, walls up, we're not falling for him at all. He's a driver who will just hurt you again if you let him in.

I walked towards him and gave him a friendly smile back to him

"You look beautiful." He said

"Thanks." I replied,

"let's go." He said

We left and of course, he had to be a gentleman and open his car door for me making me roll my eyes. We arrived at a nice restaurant and he handed his keys over to the valet and opened the door into the restaurant. We got seated at a table opposite each other in the restaurant.
