As the title says, here you can finds my thoughts about the Final Fantasy series (and maybe even others, still linked to Square, who knows!) !
I will mainly discuss about its characters(a lot of simPing time-I-I mean...
Well, yes, in the world of Final Fantasy there are certainly lot of creatures, especially mythical and divine creatures. We might remember some summons such as Shiva (an Indian deity) or Odin (from the Norse mythology) who, with Gilgamesh along, always appear in the various chapters.
Something that caught my eye while I was reading the First Volume of "Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive" was how the Archfiends (4 of Golbez'minions) were named. They are :
⋗Scarmiglione⋖ The Blight Despot,one of the four Elemental Lord serving Golbez.

⋗Cagnazzo⋖ The Archfiend of Water, "The Drowned King".

Since I'm Italian, these names ringed a bell... "Those names are Italian written so there's no way I've not read them somewhere before" Of course, the title of this chapter explains everything, all of them came from "Dante's Divine Comedy"
All of them are from a devil's group called "Malebranche " :
☞Scarmiglione appears in the 8th Circle of Hell's, where corrupted politicians burn down in a pitch;
☞Cagnazzo is ordered to be part of the escort assigned to Virgil and Dante for the passage of the bedlam of the "barattieri"
☞Barbariccia comes second ,after Malacoda, into being the most important devil. He appears to be the most serious and dutiful of all the devils;
☞Rubicante he has a side role to the Comedy, he's the last one to be called by Malacoda. He's often mentioned as "Rubicante pazzo " too.
