Chapter 3 - Joker

After Judy left Cecile's room, she went to her lecture class and spent the day just devoting time to her lectures.

After her classes were over, she went to her room, took a shower, and repeated the lessons she had learned during the day. She spent her day as a normal student spends.

The next day, she woke up in the daylight and started the day just like a normal student would. But Judy would learn today that this school, unlike other schools, is not normal.

Judy hasn't seen or even heard from her brother since the opening ceremony. That's why she wanted to see her brother first thing, during the lunch break.

So, during the lunch break, she went to the 3rd graders' side. But there she overheard some conversations.

"Did you hear what happened? The Joker is back in business."

"Again? Do we have to go through this every year?!"

"We have to! We know we shouldn't cross the line! But freshmen don't know yet. And it's the King-, I mean Joker's job to teach it!"

"What do you mean crossing the line?" Judy couldn't bear to listen and involuntarily joined their conversation.

"Who are you?" One of the students asked

"I just wanted to know what the Joker is..." Judy replied

"You're a freshman, right? I'll do you a favor, don't try to fight anyone at school! Or the Joker will come after you! Just like the others in the infirmary right now!" One of the students warned Judy

"Thank you so much!" Judy thanked the warning, bowed her head, and immediately left, her target is the infirmary 

'They said the King! It must be Ray! What is Ray trying to do and what is the Joker!?' Judy discussed what was on her mind on her way to the infirmary

Not long after, Judy reached the infirmary. Her goal was to find out what the Joker was. When she came to the infirmary to find out, she encountered a familiar face.

"SKYLER!" Judy shouted Skyler's name

"Don't shout! This is the infirmary! You will make people uncomfortable!" Nurse warns Judy

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" Judy bowed her head to the nurse and walked over to Skyler.

"What happened to you, Skyler?" Judy asked, Skyler, didn't answer

"He met the Joker." Standing by Skyler's bed, the tall, blond-haired girl who looked like she was at least a 3rd grader answered

"Who?" Judy asked

"Joker! Let me introduce myself, I'm Avery, Queen of the school!" Avery introduced herself

"I'm sorry for being so disrespectful to you, Queen!" Judy apologized again and bowed her head.

"Raise your head! Don't bow your head to me again and don't call me Queen! Avery is the ideal." Avery's voice rose.

"Okay, Avery..." Judy struggled, but she managed.

"So what's going on with this Joker?" Judy asked

"You two are freshmen, it's my duty to tell you this," Avery said and started to tell

"We can call Joker the person who maintains order and equality in this school. In ancient times, Wellston was in a very bad situation for students. Low-tiers were constantly crushed by people stronger than themselves, the King and Queen of that period did not do anything about it and even supported it." Avery began to tell

"At that time, this situation bothered a student and he single-handedly defeated the royals of the school and beat them badly, at the same time!" Avery got excited while she told

"After being above the King and Queen, he opened a club called Safe House to prevent inequality in the school. He became the head of this club and whoever attacked other students at school for no reason would come before this person and declare their place!" Avery couldn't contain his excitement

"Since then, Safe House has been going on, and the most powerful person in the school who took over Safe House is referred to as the Joker." Avery finished telling

"So who is this Joker? I mean the first Joker?" Judy asked

"Nobody knows. The first Joker's name has been erased from school history. The first known Joker is the former King named Jeremy" Avery replied

"And this young man is the last victim of the current Joker. Here, drink this tonic and it will heal your visible wounds." The nurse joined the conversation and handed Skyler the tonic.

"Nurse Elaine, can't you heal him yourself? It might be faster that way." Avery asked Elaine

"Normally yes, but this young man is the last victim of the Joker, I spent all my energy on the previous victims. The best thing I can do right now is tonic!" Elaine explained

"Thanks." Skyler drank the tonic and handed the bottle to Elaine.

"Skyler, why did the Joker come after you? What did you do?" Judy asked

"You're too loud!" Skyler refused to answer

"Yesterday he attacked a low-tier for no reason. Raylee went after him in response." Avery answered instead of Skyler

"It wasn't for no reason, that bastard willingly bumped into me!" Skyler suddenly wanted to talk

"I'm sure it is! By the way, what's your name, miss?" Avery asked Judy

"Judy!" Judy said her name

"Nice to meet you, Judy! Come on, let's go, let our rebellious brat heal by himself!" Avery made a request to Judy

"Okay, Avery." Judy accepted the offer and the two left Skyler and left the infirmary.
