Through the days that I woke up next to you, you warmed my heart with your sleepy smile.
Through the days I loved you, you mocked me and ignored me.
Through the tears I cried for you, my heart was still warm and alive with love.
I was A meadow full of wildflowers, clashing against the baby blue sky. Hints of yellows, reds, and pinks amongst the lush, full clover around it.
Peaceful and beautiful.
Selfish, and cold against the warmth of the flowers colors. Black and grey, sucking the life out of everything you touch.
You stepped on the petals, and doused them with gasoline.
As the flames crackled and it's snarled fingertips reached for the sky, I watched you as I burned.
The flowers became nothing but embers and ash against a now red sky.
I fell to the ground, my knees sinking in the ashes of the wildflowers. Only the sounds of crackling fires and your footsteps walking away filled my ears.
Tears sizzled into the ashy Earth below.
