🎃 How old do I need to be to enter the contest?

You have to be 13 or older to enter the contest.

🎃 Do I have to publish the entry as a standalone?

No, you can publish the entry in an existing anthology or short story collections. If you publish your entry in an existing anthology, please add the chapter link in the submission form. However, please note that only standalone winning entries will be added to the Halloween Vault 2021 Winners reading list. 

🎃 What is the point of view/perspective of the prompts?

The prompts don’t have any specific perspectives. Feel free to use the point of view that fits your entry!

🎃 Can I choose multiple prompts for my entry?

Yes, but your entry needs to be based on one main prompt.

🎃 Can I submit more than one entry?

No, as we only allow one entry per user.

🎃 Is poetry accepted?

Yes, we accept poetry with a maximum of 500 words.

🎃 Can I write in more than one language?

If you’re writing an English story, you can use words of different languages if it’s necessary for your story. You can also translate your story in one of the participating languages, but please note that you can only win in one language.

🎃 Are mature stories allowed?

Yes, as long as they adhere to Wattpad’s Content Guidelines.

🎃 Can I enter the Halloween Vault contest with a previously published story?

No, you have to write your entry originally for this contest. 

🎃 Can I co-write?

Yes, you can co-write, but please note that the profile with the published entry will be added to the Winners reading list.

🎃 Can I finish writing the sentence of my story, even if it goes above the word limit?

Yes, as 50 words more than the given word range are accepted.

🎃 How can I enter the contest?

To enter the contest you have to submit your entry through this FORM.

🎃 When do I have to submit my entry?

You have to submit your entry by October 31st, 2021, 11:59 CEST.

🎃 When will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced at the end of November.
