The light of the night

When the night is cold and dark,
You flicker in like a spark,
Settling your warmth deep into my heart,
Urging me with a whispery breath, to contemplate on the start of my  unspoken art.

I wonder at times, how nature could create such a marvel,
An enchanter of the night--
The fire that you kindle
Sparkles like a brilliant light.

Tiny gossamer wings with an agile frame,
Wading through the sea of clouds,
Your armoured figure burns like flashing flames,
Little diamonds weaving through the darkened shroud.

Don't you feel jaded,
Blinking away in your splendour?
A light that truly never fades away,
What a spectacular mark adorning the nightly enclosure!

You sit on the leaves, like fiery dews,
Fluttering in harmony- the perfect crew,
Hark! Your melody captivates me,
Even nature cannot help but attune to your synchronicity.

Dancing about in the moonlight,
That never does dull your beauty-
Rather, an enrichment of your might--
As you prance about with a renewed energy.

When the night is cold and dark,
Firefly, you flicker in like a spark,
Settling your warmth deep into my heart,
Urging me with a whisper, to contemplate on my soul's unspoken art-
Dear Firefly, you symbolise a breathtakingly new start.

A/N:- This poem was written by me when I was a youngster in high school. ( So was the poem titled - ballad of a lost sailor.)
I found them after a long time, safely tucked away in one of my diaries; and decided to put the mini tales to good use. XD

Truly, nature is the biggest miraculous marvel one has ever seen!
