Elope

"What made you guys visited us here?" Ang mama ni Zach habang pasimpleng uminom ng wine.

"I want to talk to dad at sayo, Ma." Si Zach.

"Your dad is coming. Recently he was really busy investigating, kasama si Dwayne actually." Anito. "Ba't ang seryoso niyo? It feels like you have your agenda setting, Zach? Trying to elope? Ba't ba ang lapit niyo sa isa't-isa? Para naman kayong paghihiwalayin." Dagdag niya pa.

Hindi na ako nagsalita. The last time I went here... medyo komportable pa ako sa Mama ni Zach... pero ngayon bakit may galit at poot ako sa kanya? I was like I'm about to shout at her and blame her for everything. No, Astrid. Hindi mo pa lam ang totoong kwento you have to listen it first.

"Oh your dad is here. Lucky for you Zach nilaanan ka niya ng oras."

Habang papalapit ng papalapit ang daddy ni Zach mas lalo namang humigpit ang kapit ng kamay ko kay Zach.

"I'm on a meeting. I'm sorry I'm late, Zach. I thought sa Pilipinas ka na muna for now? You came home early? Papakasalan mo na?" Seryoso ako at hindi na muna ako sumagot. Nagpunta kami sa sala nila at naupo. Sinimulan nilang magtanong samin kung ang sadya ba namin ay kasal pero hindi hindi kasal.

"My girlfriend... is here, Dad. We want to clarify things. She is Renee Astrid Lee Soron. Her dad... was saying your... pinakulong niyo po ba ang president ng Grand Soron Company noon?" Diretso na iyong sinabi ni Zach. His Dad was laughing... at agad akong pinakatitigan.

"My son loves you so much hija, Astrid. But... I don't know that your a Soron." Nag-iba ang timpla ng hangin ng nalaman niyang Soron ako at halata sa mga mata ng Mama ni Zach ang galit.

"A daughter of a syndicate?" Mama ni Zach at matalim akong tinitigan.

"Mom!" Agad kong hinawakan ang kamay ni Zach. Pinapakalma siya.

"My Dad was on that car... same as you. If you are thinking that my dad was a syndicate who kidnapped you for business, hindi po ganun ang daddy ko. A lot of evidences was fabricated by your lawyers. Isn't that fair? How can you be so sure that it was my Dad who kidnapped you?" Mahinahon ko pa rin ang sinabi. "My dad was on that car too pero sa tingin ko pareho kayong piniringan sa dami naman po ng nakalaban nyung businessman... at sa yaman niyo bilang Aliser hindi naman po siguro tama na... it was dad already. For sure na ransom din naman kami. My mom approaches to you... pero wala."

"Your Mom? Who was a homewrecker too, hija?" Anito.

"Not too much, Tita. You overboard." Sagot ko.

"Randa, tama na." Papa ni Zach na mas lalo akong tinitigan.

"Hija... we hired lawyers para sila na ang mag-imbestiga. Your dad was part of it based on the evidences. Pero nakalabas siya? Hindi ba? And we live simply. Siguro bayad na sya sa kasalanan niya... why should we try to live peacefully? Forget the past." Mas lalo akong nainis sa sinabi ng Dad ni Zach. How can he be so cruel? Ganun lang yun naka agrabyado sila ng tao pero parang wala lang sa kanila?
