The past few weeks have certainly been hectic for Dick Grayson. It all started the night that he decided to become Robin again to beat the shit out of a drug dealer and child abuser.
From there Dick's life had only spiralled even further into the abyss of weirdness. Staring with Rachel Roth, a girl who had dark powers that no one seemed to understand.
She had killed a man in Detroit with her strange powers. And then almost a week later she was blowing up a convent because she wasn't in control of the amazing powers she has. And crippling some weird fucking doctor in a mansion in the woods.
Then there was Kory Anders. A tall black woman with bright red curled hair and a appetite for dressing in bright and revealing clothing. Dick wasn't entirely sure what to make of her, she seemed to be able to throw fire from her hands, she was strong as well, and she could heal herself.
She seemed to be able to read a language that is not of this Earth, which leads Dick to believe that she is from some unknown alien race. Kory has no memory about who or what she is, having suffered an accident in Zurich she cannot recall any memories.
And Kory has some connection to Rachel, like she had been tracking Rachel down for a long time. A part of an ancient prophecy.
And then finally the newest member of the group of misfits was Gar. A boy with bright green hair who was able to rearrange his DNA to let him take animal form. But for some reason can only take the form of a bright green tiger at the moment. He came from the Doom Patrol group, the doctor had saved his life from some unknown illness and the powers were a side effect of the treatment.
Then there was the strange fucking family that seemed to be hunting them all down. They seemed to be impervious to harm, Kory had killed one by blasting him with a blast of fire. Normal humans could not harm them so easily.
They had nearly killed Dawn Granger by throwing her off the rooftop of her building, and if they hadn't kidnapped Rachel at the time they would have killed Hank Hall and Dick as well.
Dick drove them all to a motel in the middle of nowhere, a place with only one road in and out of the town, a wide open parking lot where Dick could spot any hostiles approaching from miles away. And it was far enough out of the way that no one would think to look for them here.
"I still can't believe that you traded the Porsche for a minivan" Gar commented. It was definitely a step down for everyone involved. And Dick didn't like looking like a 23 year old driving a dad car.
"This we can all fit in" Dick replied. They were cramped in the Porsche for long distances, and Dick was happy to make the sacrifice if it kept them all alive. They were all being targeted by the Nuclear Family now, and the Porsche stuck out like sore thumb.
