Chapter 7 // life comes falling down

The whole event after davaughn closed his eyes was just a blur, we had gotten into an ambulance and drove to the hospital. I was pacing back and forth for almost three hours in the waiting room and sometime between the time we had gotten there so did there mom. The doctor came soon after and said that the surgery was done and he was waking up. But only family could see him.

Trell sent me a sympathetic look " i can sit with you bro" he said

I shook my head falling back into the seat " nah it's fine" i said and trell nodded before following the doctor and his mom with Ken close after.

I sat quietly for a while. I even tried taking a second to get some sleep but i couldn't and just sat trying not to let my nerves take over but I was out of my seat as soon as i saw them walking back.

"is he okay? Did he say anything?" I asked looking between Ken and trell

Ken glared at his mom for a second " yeah, hes awake. Didn't want to talk much though" he said

I frowned " Why? Can he not talk?" I asked worry starting to become even more noticeable in my voice

"He said a few things, then asked if he could see you" trell said not looking very happy either

I started to smile before i could stop myself " so can i go?" I asked and trell shook his head

I was confused at first but there mom said something next " I told him it would be best to get some sleep and not see anyone else for a while." She said

The smile fell from my lips and i guess i started to get mad " so i can't see him.. Even though he asked for me? Thats fucked up. He obviously didnt want to talk to you." I said as kens eyes widened

There mom glared at me " i will be telling your mother about this, and you've been fighting with him since highschool started. I don't think stress would be good for him right now" she said

I rolled my eyes " so what you suddenly care about him now?" I asked

She went quiet for a second with a angry look on her face " stay away from my son" she said before walking away.

I stood still for a second watching as she walked away before turning back to trell and Ken " im sorry man. I know your worried" trell said

I sighed " hes okay. Thats all that matters" i said blankly before starting to walk back over to the seats in the waiting room.

I meant that. He was okay and that was what i was worried about. But he asked for me, and the fact that someone who didn't even care about him wouldn't let me see him made me mad and now im probably never going to see him again. That made me even more mad.
