Wanda and I decided to go out for drinks. She rarely leaves the house since Y/n was taken so I figured it'd be good for her to get out a bit. I keep myself busy, visiting her as often as I can to check on her."Is there a reason we had to go out Natasha?" She asked. "We could've drunk and talked at my house, or your apartment even. I'd be willing to leave my place if it's just to go to yours."
"It's nice to get out now and then, Wanda." I explained.
"You're here to ask me about talking to the child, aren't you?" She asked looking down into her glass.
"She wants to know about Y/n's abilities. How she got them, how she practiced." I told her.
"She got them from the mind stone. She and I worked together to understand our own abilities." She explained then sighed as she realized why I wanted her to say it. "You want me to show her the abilities I have so she can understand. You want me to explain it to Stark's daughter because I'm the only one who can understand what gaining those abilities feels like."
"Yeah, she's a good kid Wanda," I told her. "She just wants to learn more about her aunt. She doesn't understand the whole situation, we're trying to avoid telling her about the gruesome things. Stark doesn't want her to be afraid of Y/n."
"I'll think about it, Nat." She sighed.
We sat in silence for a bit. It was clear that Wanda was upset talking about Y/n. Some days she had better days where she'd be happy and cooking her home-cooked meals, other days however she also had plenty of bad days. On her bad days, she kept herself shut in her room, maybe getting up and moving to the couch. The number of times I've gone to her house and found her face flooded with tears became countless.
"Do you think she's okay? Do you think she's still alive?" Wanda asked, getting choked up a bit.
"Well, until she's with us I don't think she's going to fully be okay. We already know how Hydra treats her." I began. "However, she's strong and very intelligent. There's not a doubt in my mind that she's alive. We just need to find her and bring her home. She's tough, you know? She'll make it out okay, and we'll all be there to help her."
"Thanks, Natasha." She cracked a slight smile.
While I do hope that she's still okay and alive I did lie a little bit to Wanda. For her own sake. I fear every day that we don't have her is a larger chance that they've already killed her. As badly as I wanted her to be alive I know deep down what Hydra is like. They kept her alive because she's smart, but now they've wiped her mind. That's not even considering the punishment she faced for escaping. I'm very worried about her but so is Wanda, I have to keep myself strong for her.
"I think I'll head home now, you walking with me?" She asked.
"You go ahead, I'll head back home in a bit just need to message someone." I responded and she nodded her head and left.
I brought up my phone to message Tony.
"Wanda says she'll think about it."
"What does that mean?"
"Is she going to come by then or what?""Just give her time Stark, she's still very upset."
I paused for a moment. Pondering my next message.
"Do you think we're just searching for somebody who's already gone?"
"Do you ever worry we're too late?""I worry about that every day."
"But I won't stop searching until I know for sure."
"I need to get her back."
