"Great," said Posy. "What do you want?"

"Sorry for ruining your almost-first kiss with Mac who you only just met and don't know anything about," I said. My sarcasm was unforgiving.

"Yeah. Thanks for that," Posy replied, matching my heavy tone.

"You weren't ready," I told her. "Just be patient. Another chance will come along."

        "Promise?"

        I sighed. "Yeah, sure. Promise."

Posy squinted at me. "I'll hold you to that."

I rolled my eyes. "You're in a freakin' romance novel. Of course another chance is going to come along. Anyway, how are you liking your love triangle boys?"

        "They're okay. Really handsome."

"They're flat," I sighed. "They've got as much character as bricks."

        Posy shrugged. "You're the writer."

"Yes I am," I groaned, leaning forward to put my face on the kitchen table. "You shouldn't fall in love with bricks so easily."

"Well excuse me for being written so poorly. Can we just get on with the story? No offence, but I'd rather be kissing Mac than talking to you."

        "Don't kiss him."

        "Fine. Whatever."
