IN THE DUSK KINGDOM
"Where are we?"
"Please don't tell me we're lost...again."
"Shush. I'm trying to figure out when we are."
"You have a terrible sense of direction! Why did Heeseung even let you go on your own?!"
"I'm not alone—"
"I'm a spirit, forced to help the Mythical Council member whose power is time. I am not real."
"So you're dead?"
"No...maybe. Anyways, let's just go back to the castle."
"Nope," Riki objected against Aisha, who rolled her eyes.
"You can literally teleport us there!"
"It's too much work."
"No, it's not."
"Whatever. Let's just keep going until we find something."
"Found what? Your braincells?"
"Noona!"
"Ok, ok. Let's go."
The two walked in silence with only the birds chirping and the bamboo trees rustling from the wind between them. Until they had reached a small clearing in the forest where the sunlight shined on a specific spot.
"Woah, what is that?" Aisha breathed out, noticing a large fox-like creature with smooth white fur, seven long, endlessly flowing tails with golden streaks on them.
Beautiful and all the other synonyms were the words crossing Riki's mind. He felt an ancient connection between the two of them, something he couldn't quite figure out. He felt a invisible string pulling himself towards the strange creature and so he walked forward. Then the fox's ears twitched and it turned his head, making eye contact with the royal. Time had stopped, the golden streaks on its tail began to glow brightly.
The creature noticed Riki's orbs shining purple along with his hair changing into the same color. With that, it scurried away.
"Wait!" Riki called out. The royal began chasing after the being; his spirit's voice becoming softer and softer. The two dashed around the forest floor until they reached a small minko house with a brunette male reading on the outside porch.
"Oh, Sun! You're—" He stopped and glanced at the breathless prince a few feet behind the fox. "Who the hell are you?" The brunette boy was about to march over towards Riki when the mysterious animal had stood in front of him. It shook his head. The person pursed his lip and let out a deep breath. He nodded and returned to his original spot, still intently watching the scene unfold in front of him.
The creature softly walked towards Riki and sat in front of him, holding out a object out.
"My ring!" Riki exclaimed, taking the jewelry and sliding it back onto his finger. "It usually doesn't come off, though." He frowned before being blinded by a light from the corner of his eye. Instinctively, he raised his arm to protect his eyes from the sudden brightness. Once it dimmed, he lowered it and his eyes widened. "Who the hell are you?!"
