There stands a mountain tall and proud
Nothing even close to it's height for miles around
At it's summit you can see the impassable forest on all sides
The sun as it rises and sets
From east to westThe stars at night shining bright
The big moon as it follows the way the sun went
And we can't forget the cave
Full of crystals just down the incline
If you look out to the east
You may find a spec in the distance
It used to be a town
But since then all the villagers left
They left because the city was bigger
Bighter, full of may more opportunities
A river runs next to it but if you look at just the right angle
You may find the waterfall that feeds it
A huge powerful current that sweeps off the mountain's side
To fall in the river below
Creating dancing rainbows and a refreshing mist
You can see everything, and that is why there is a quaint little house
Right at the very top
But a creeping vine had swallowed it a few years prior
It now has gone back to the earth from whence it came
But only makes the scenery that much more beautiful
After the villagers left and the creeping vine started to grow uncheckedIt first swallowed the mountain side then the village that was abandoned many years ago
It swallowed the cottage and the rest of the mountain
And only the river remained
Yet it was smaller
For the vines need lots of water to grow
It now sits much more gentle that in years past still creating rainbows and mist
The constant companion to the mountain swallowed bellow_________
I wrote this about the dark side of my new favorite plant. It's called kudzu and it is nicknamed the plant the swallowed the south. It has big medicinal properties and also has pretty flowers but it is also really dangerous and can grow around a foot a day. Anyways I hope you liked the chapter!
