Ch. 12 "Rescued"

Nat POV

We've been on little birds trail for two weeks, and every single time we get close, just like that she's gone, like the wind no trace, no trail,

Then we find a single bread crumb, and get back on her trail again, and the same thing happens,

"We got a hot one," Tony said walking in

"What are you talking about?" Bucky said not sounding happy,

"Why don't you two just take a look for yourself," Tony said

A screen fell down in front of us,

It showed Amber , running in the rain as it poured, with two people hot on her tail,

"Wait, Wait zoom in on them," I said

Tony did,

They were dressed in tactical white,

"God I know who she's running from," I said rushing out of the room,

"Nat," I hear Bucky's voice not sounding happy,

I spun around,

"Mind sharing," He said following me as we walked at a brisk pace to find her,

"The red Room, it's them," I said

"Why would they be after her?' He said

"I don't know," I said

"Nat," He grabbed my wrist,

"I told you I don't know," I said

He nodded and we both rushed to go find her,

Amber POV

Oh sweet cheese and crackers how did they find me? I thought as I ran through the streets as it poured down rain,

Using every resource I could to give them the slip, using anything I could to my advantage,

I ran down a alley and a dead end,

I gulped,

I slowly turned around to see them at the end of the alley,

"End of the line little red," One of the men said

Looks like I'm going to have to try and fight my way out of this, I thought

They approached me slowly,

I glared at them,

"No fear good, you remember," The other said

That quickly I pulled out a tactical knife out of my back pocket hitting the one on the right, in the middle of his palm that his hand was stuck to the brick wall by the knife,

The man screamed a blood curtailing scream,

The man charged me I was about to get ready for his attack but before I could a gun shot rag and the man fell to the ground,

I could barely see who saved my ass due to the heavy down pour,

As they got closer I noticed it was Nat, and Bucky,

I backed up a little as Nat kneeled in front of me,

"Are you hurt?" He asked

I shook my head no,

I was extremely confused by this, Nat looked very worried, and Bucky, he had mixed emotion behind his eyes,

Relived was a major one, concern, and sorrow,

I didn't understand this at all, I don't understand why they came after me after I left, I don't understand the emotions I see in their eyes,

I don't understand any of this,

All I've known was the red room, the harsh training, the mean people,

And yet they both looked genially concerned for me, I thought

Bucky was now kneeling in front of Nat, he smiled at me,

"Why don't we get out of the rain huh, it's pretty cold out here,' He said

Holding out his metal hand,

I hesitated,

"It's alright, it's over now I promise," He said

My tiny hand grasped his big metal hand, I don't know why but I trusted what he said, and we walked back to what I can assume is the tower,

In the cold rain, wondering what made me trust them, I thought as I looked up at Bucky, who has a scowl on his face now,

All I can say is that they saved me from going back to that horrible place, I thought
