Aru Shah Oneshots

A Promise

Aiden dashed against the enemy, his scimitars swishing along the air currents. His instincts kicked in and he started slashing at the monster.
"Light em' u-" his voice stopped in his own throat. There was no Shah. They'd lost her.
Aiden tumbled to the ground. He lost his grip on reality. All he could think was how he missed her. He tried pushing his thoughts away. His feelings and emotions. But they didn't budge. He yelled inside his head.
             He didn't even pay attention to the monster heading towards him until Mini yelled at him and put up a shield in front. Brynne shapeshifted back into a human and patted his back.
"She's gonna be back," she said, staring at the enemy as if she was telling herself too. Then she turned into a large blue eagle and flew upwards.
Aiden felt like somebody twisted his guts. He shoved everything inside and slashed another asura. "We're gonna bring you back Shah... I promise" he told himself.
