Soon, the meeting started. Ms.Kim gave her welcome comment before starting what seems like a 40 slide deck on the trip.
"This is the house allocation," she said, tapping her keyboard to show the next slide.
It was columns of our names with the house we were going to be in. When I finally came across my name, I realised that I was going to be in the same house as The Boyz.
"Due to popular demand by the fans, we have decided to put Sohee in the same house as The Boyz. Your fans seem to like it, so we'll give them what they want," Ms.Kim explained. "Sohee, are you alright with this? We can always change it if you don't feel comfortable."
"Oh. It's.. okay," I said, taking time to really process my decision.
"Great then! Moving on to what to pack.." Ms.Kim continued as she tapped to the next slide to show list of list of things to bring for our one week trip there before KCON.
Time skip (to the weekend before the flight)
I was starting to pack my things up for the trip the coming week. I had finished The Boyz's album, Dreamlike, the day before, and never have I ever felt so relieved of it.
I opened my dusty ass duffel bag, wiping it down with a damp towel before putting my clothes in it. Now that I think of it, I haven't travelled out of Seoul, or South Korea, for that matter of fact, ever since I came here. Well. I packed my clothes that I was gonna wear the first few days, my undergarments stored in an opaque bag in the other storage compartment.
Suddenly, the doorbell had rang. Getting up from my knees, joints cracking, I got up to open the door to see Jae, as per usual.
"Aren't you suppose to be getting ready for your comeback?" I asked.
"That's a nice 'welcome home!' from my sister," Jae spat back with sarcasm.
I rolled my eyes, stepping to the side for my brother to come in.
"What're you doing here?" I asked again, closing the door behind me.
"I wanted to wish you off... for your flight to NYC! Stay safe! Don't die!" my brother exclaimed, pulling me into a hug.
"That sounds so pleasant. Especially that last part. Thank you very much," I deadpanned, my words dripping with sarcasm.
I pulled away from my brother.
"Just. Stay safe. Who you rooming with? Your manager?" he asked.
He was now bending over the kitchen tabletop, his weight shifted to one leg as the other dangled and swayed from left to right.
"The Boyz actually," I said.
For a moment, I could see Jae's eyes widen slightly.
"Be careful then," he advised.
"Why?" I asked at the odd advise.
"Cause you're a girl staying in a house with 11 boys who are older than you," he pointed out.
"Well most of them yes. But- you don't have to worry. I've been with them for three years. I'll be fine," I comforted my brother. "Plus~ I get my own room," I raised again.
"Fine. Just take care," he said, standing straight up.
With his weight finally shifting to both his legs, he walked over hugging me one more time. "I should go. My manager is waiting for me downstairs."
I nodded understanding his situation. I walked over to my door and opened it.
"See you in a week and a half Soh!" he exclaimed.
"See you!" I shouted back, before closing my door behind the boy.
I stood there for a moment, processing my thoughts and the conversation I just had.
"Okay. Time to continue packing," I mumbled to myself as I continued to pack my things.

"Hello... new home!!" Eric shouted as he opened the door to our temporary stay at NYC.
"Eric's got too much energy," Sunwoo mumbled beside me, making me let out a muffled laugh.
As we started filing into the house, the camera crew started setting up their cameras that were supposed to be hidden in the corners of the rooms, except mine of course.
While the boys started through the house, checking out the different rooms for later, I started to drag the duffel bag up the stairs.
"Let me help you with that," Kevin said, noticing me.
"No, it's alright-," I started.
I was cut off as Kevin said not another word and helped to carry my bag. I couldn't help but let out an accidental smile, following behind Kevin.
"Welcome to Casa The Boyz," Kevin joked, opening the door.
"Thank you, my good man," I ran along with the joke.
He placed my bags down beside the door as I checked out the small room I was allocated to. It was a small room, with a mini balcony bed on the side. There, it looked over at the road beside the house we were living in. It was a nice view to start my mornings in NYC.
I opened the window, letting in the summer breeze enter the room, circulating the air just a little. As I began to open my duffel bag and arrange my clothes in the wardrobe in my room, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," I acknowledged.
My door swung open to see Changmin.
"Ms.Kim's buying dinner for us tonight. Korean food. What do you want?" he asked.
"Mmm anything," I replied.
"Ma'am, 'anything' is not on the list," he pointed out sassily.
I rolled my eyes before answering again. "Tteok-bokki."
"That's it?"
I nodded my head.
"You eat so little," he raised.
"I have a small stomach," I stated.
He hummed in response before heading out of my room. Not long after, Ms.Kim and some of the other staff had came back with the food. I tied my hair into a really low ponytail, to prevent it from meeting with my food.
Running down to help my manager and the staff with laying out the food, the boys came down one by one, slowly after unpacking their things. They had more clothes than me, from what it seems. Chanhee even has a separate bag for what he was gonna wear at home and during rehearsals for KCON. When everybody was finally down, we could finally eat.
"Jal meokkesseumnida," we wished before all twelve of us dove into our food.
