Clean Slate

I had plans, but HE snapped it all;
I laddered up just to see the sky fall.

Made my way up the mountains; came down with the landslide
Built a hut in the woods but HE bolted it from the inside.

The pages of the book I read revealed a different story
HE altered the ingredients of my favorite dish and he wasn't even sorry.

The boat which lay stranded for years was seen floating adrift
the weight on my shoulders; I sensed it shift.

HE pierced my walls and shattered my fences
unlocked my chains and awakened my senses.

All my life I've done nothing but blame my fate
but every single time HE provided me with a clean slate.
