Normalcy

Percy's POV

It started out a normal day at the center. I woke up 20 minutes late got dressed and showered and stuff. I looked at the other bunks. Leo was snoring still but Jason and Frank were gone. Rude. Didn't even tell me I was late. I shook my head as Leo murmured something about a boat and ladies. Classic Leo.

I got dressed and put on a blue t-shirt with black jeans and converses. I didn't really bother with my hair, not really much I can do with it. I walked over to Leo and whispered, "Hey some girl named Fake is here to see ya."

He grunted and rolled over. Fine then, looks like this'll be fun. I leaned down again.

"BOO!" I yelled. He jumped up alarmed. He looked at me with wide eyes. When he realized what happened I couldn't help but snicker.

"Dang it, Jackson! Don't scare me like that man!" He said.

"What? Was Piper chasing after you with beauty supplies or something?" I paused. "Man you shoulda seen your face." I finished then doubled over laughing again.

"Not cool dude. Anyways Festus, what time is it?" He asked.

"It is 8:37 AM." The device replied. By the way, Festus is this really cool device-thing Leo created. He can generate any Green Day song or summon up a list of pranks. The thing can do anything.

"Oh shiitake mushrooms- dude we gotta go we have like 8 minutes!" He said as he scrambled outta bed.

"Oh, you actually know how to count?" I feigned amazement. I knew Leo was crazy smart it's honestly just fun to mess with him.

He threw his shirt at me. "Get outta here, Waterboy."

"Hey," I looked at him all serious like, "don't joke about the water." I said, pointing a finger at him. I burst out with a grin. "Byeee, Megamind-" I said and went out the door.

I knew I wouldn't have time to eat my Frosted Flakes but I went to the cafeteria anyway. I knew Annabeth would be there. Ahhh, Annabeth... I had loved her for a while, ever since the day we both landed in here.

Yeah, yeah I said both. We both showed up here on the same day and hit it off immediately. We became best friends til Hazel and Frank showed up. A couple days later Piper, Leo, and Jason showed up. We all told of our crazy adventures and why we were locked up here. They're my only friends since they're the only ones in my group and class. We were all in the one for 'older' kids. I might be 17 but that doesn't mean I won't eat my blue frosted flakes and watch SpongeBob every morning.

Piper stole a car. Leo was a runaway also wanted for arson but we don't talk about that. Jason had a thing for breaking rules. He's usually a pretty tame guy but something in him just doesn't like being bound, if there is a rule he doesn't agree with he'll break it. I flooded my old school. Annabeth was a runaway. Hazel played pranks on people. And Frank was wanted for vandalism.

I walked into the cafeteria and went to our usual table, sitting beside Annabeth I grabbed her milk and took a swig.

"Hey!" She protested. She smacked my cheek and made me spit out my drink. I started laughing as milk spewed everywhere. She yanked the carton out of my hands and finished it. She looked at me smugly. I couldn't help but shake my head with a grin.
