autumn girl
you come and go
a ghost between hues
of blue gray bruises

autumn \ ˈȯ-təm \

[ the season between summer and winter comprising in the northern hemisphere usually the months of September, October, and November or as reckoned astronomically extending from the September to the December ]

- definition from merriam-webster

but oh, autumn is more than a season

dear autumn girl,

you are orange blood dripping from
clementine trees tearing at the seams,
soaking my teeth and slipping through
the cracks of my summer mind.
you are bitter chrysanthemum tea
growing colder as each sun that meets the sky
neglects your inky surface.
your auburn curls fall
everyday and you reminisce of
green spring meadows.
the future is tainted with snow and thorn branches;
you are too afraid to dream,
so you reminisce until you fade

oh how u fade

u ㅤfㅤ aㅤ dㅤ eㅤ a ㅤwㅤ aㅤ y

oh autumn girl,

you are the fleeting line

between winter's hello and summer's goodbye

between winter's hello and summer's goodbye
