death

Why must death shroud me so?
I cannot escape it's grasping claws,
Or release my presence from it's watching eyes

All around me are dead and soon I will be too
It cannot escape me, it permeates my mind at night
Twists into my dreams

It will take me away from here one day soon
And then all I will know is blackness,
For all the world is to me
Is a vague and blurred hint of colour

And with death comes that looming blackness
Which takes such pathetic colours away,

Each time that sound chimes,
From aching lungs and crooked lips,
It reminds me of my looming death
In all of it's eternity
And it's inevitability

Death will take me some day soon
