Chapter 5

{Natsu's POV}

As Happy and I were waiting I notice that from where we were sitting we had a pretty good view of our surroundings. I looked over to the trees where Laxus, Wendy, Carla, and Erza were hiding. If It weren't for my enhanced senses I would not have noticed them. I was about to as Happy something when I picked up that intoxicating scent again. I stood up and started to sniff around trying to locate the source of the enticing scent. Happy flew in front of me and said,

"Natsu what is it?" I walked around Happy and said,

"I'm picked up that scent from earlier I'm trying to figure out when it is coming from." Happy giggled and said,

"Natsu why are you so, interested in this scent?" I looked at Happy I scratched the back of my neck and blush then said,

"Um, well Happy it smells nice. I don't know Happy I just want to know where it is coming from. It smells like it's coming from that building but, it must be pretty close to the ground. Though the scent is strong right here like a draft is carrying the scent up here." Happy flew to the edge the nodded and said,

"Aye there is a draft. What does the scent smell like?" I looked away from Happy and said,

"Strawberries and vanilla. I'm also picking up Gray and Juvia's scent but, it is really faint." Happy giggled and said,

"What if it's your mate? Maybe that's why your so draw to it." I was about to answer when Gray said,

"Oi why are you two not at the cave entrance keeping watch?" What if someone entered why we were in there and we got captured. Not only would you be in trouble with Erza but, you'd blow our cover Flame Brain." I turned around and faced Gray and Juvia then replied,

"We were watching. I'm a dragon slayer I have other senses. I would have know if someone was coming. Now stop being such an ice prick and let's go so, you can tell Erza what you found." Gray smashed his head into mine and said,

"What did you call me lizard breathe." I glared at him and pushed my head against his with just as much force and replied,

"I called you an Ice prick but now i think that wasn't good enough. Your move of a Jack Frost." Juvia pushed us apart and said,

"Stop, it or Juvia will tell Erza. Natsu Gray isn't a Jack Frost he has a kind and warm heart. If anyone here has a frozen heart it's you. You barely ever talk to your guild mates. Now Juvia would appreciate if you would behave Natsu and get back to the mission. You shouldn't get so easily distracted." Happy flew in front of me and said,

"Guys why are you being so, mean to Natsu? Natsu was doing the job you asked." Gray started to walk down the mountain with Juvia and as he did he said,

"Happy how blind are you? Honestly Happy everyone assumes you only hang out with Natsu cause you have to since, your his exceed and all. Honestly he's only on this team cause Gramps wants him to be. Everyone thought you came to the guild by yourself to get away from him." Happy wiped away his tears and said,

"Gray what do you mean? What do you have against Natsu?" We continued down the mountain as Gray spoke saying,

"What do you mean Happy? Natsu the one who is distant. He's the one who doesn't want anything to do with us." Happy was about to say something when we arrived to our hiding spot. Happy grabbed me an carried me up to the top of the tree. We waited for Gray and Juvia to get up to the top of the tree. Once we they got up there Erza said,

"So, what did you find?" Gray replied,

"There is a cave at the top of the mountain. On one side is a staircase it is hidden by part of the cave wall. The staircase leads to an underground zoo. There are quiet a few caged creatures. We didn't see any rare creatures but, it could have been further down the hallway." After Gray said that Erza turned to me and asked,
