Later, Ryota Miyagi and Hisashi Mitsui showed up.
" I got good news to everyone." Ryota Miyagi said. " We have tomorrow's first ever Varsity Senior High School Basketball League regular season game."
" Who will be our first opponents?" Hanamichi Sakuragi said.
" Kyozai High School." Hisashi Mitsui said. " Kanagawa Division 2's number one high school team while we are still have a month to go before the start of the Qualifying Games for Inter High Championship." Hisashi Mitsui said.
" I suspected the Kyozai High have their own ace player who is the freshman who went to the same middle school as me." Hanamichi Sakuragi said.
" You know him?" Kaede Rukawa asked.
" The red-haired Kenta Suzuki." Hanamichi Sakuragi said. " He's about 190 cm, he is as tall as me and he plays both power forward and center."
" So he's 6'2." Kaede Rukawa said.
" Trust me Kaede." Hanamichi Sakuragi said. " He's my middle school team's starting center while I became a starting power forward. I looked forward to face him."
" I suggest that you practice harder Hanamichi." Takenori Akagi said. " He might be your arch rivalry."
" Don't worry Takenori the Great Gorilla. " Hanamichi Sakuragi said. " Everything is under control."
BOINK!
" Who are you calling a Gorilla?!" Takenori Akagi exclaimed.
" So much for fantastic nicknames." Kaede Rukawa said.
Later, Shohoku Team were now started practicing.
Meanwhile, at Kyozai High School, Kenta Suzuki is stood up at the window as the 2nd year Captain named Daigo Nagato showed up.
" Looks like Shohoku has one month away before the start of the Qualifying Games for Inter High Championship." Daigo Nagato said.
" We will beat them tomorrow." Kenta Suzuki said. " It will be the first time to face Hanamichi Sakuragi in a regular season match of the Varsity Senior High School Basketball League Division 1."
" During their practice game against Ryonan." Daigo Nagato said. " Their loss by one points can still lose in the finals of Kanagawa District Tournament. This is my only prediction."
" Kainan High has been champion in Kanagawa for 17 years in Division 1 while we are 8-time Division 2 Champion in 8 years and 2-time runner-up in 2 years." Kenta Suzuki said.
" Trust me." Daigo Suzuki said. " Shohoku Team means nothing but a scrapyard team with the exception of Kaede Rukawa, who joined Shohoku recently from Tomigaoka Middle School."
" We need someone can guard Kaede." Kenta Suzuki said. " He reminded me of Akira Sendoh and also Sannoh's Eiji Sawakita, Japan's true number one high school player."
