Biting my nails in silence, my eyes found my phone which lay on the table waiting for Jaehyun's text. Which didn't come since last night. I was worried that Jaehyun and Taeyong might have fought because of the situation at the shop. Jaehyun was clearly not pleased when he saw Taeyong visiting me and the latter clearly became panicky when Jaehyun caught him.
I pushed away my cup of cold coffee and stared on my phone again. It's almost five AM and I still haven't gotten any sleep. And to ease my mind and do something productive as I await for Jaehyun's return. I texted my security detail and asked one of them to drive me to Jinn Sanctuary and another to stay with Obok. Something with my appointment with Dr. Jun made me feel unease and so I decided to visit the source of my worries. The Asylum.
It was only a few weeks since I decided to go back and revisit my past to learn about my so-called stalker. And now I'm putting it into action as to clear my doubts and anxiety. I picked up my phone again and checked the time and my inbox. Still, nothing. Jaehyun. "Obok, I'll be back tonight. Stay here and be a good boy, arasseo?" I told Obok and tossed out a dog treat for him to munch. Jaehyun was returning tomorrow and I want this sorted out today.
I opened the door for the man who was wearing a plain black and white suit. Obok's baby sitter for today. "Make sure to feed him his meal at twelve noon and give him a treat at three thirty PM," I instructed. "Don't walk him outside, in case the neighbors sees you. Just play with him inside the house,"
"Yes, sir." the man replied with a monotonous tone like baby sitting a dog was a regular occurrence in his life as a VIP security personnel.
My driver for today opened the passenger door of a black Lexus car waiting outside the house. And I settled in the back and gave out a sigh as I collected my thoughts. In fact, if I wasn't so distracted today I would've drive there myself and enjoy the countryside scenery along the way. But I doubt I will get home in one piece so I had no choice but inform them.
"Good morning, sir! I'll begin the journey now," my driver greeted me as soon as he sat in the driver's seat.
"Sure, I want to arrive there before lunch time. Can you handle it?" I asked. I knew it was a four hour drive to and fro from that place. That's how far away it was from the civilization, secluded and lonely surrounded by nature and psychologically challenged privileged kids.
"No problem, sir." he answered as we drove off in silence.
The drive was uneventful and unexpectedly smooth. But only until I saw the familiar trees that welcomed the visitor inside the vast private estate of the asylum. Thirty minutes from now, the bridge and the high tower of the asylum should loom into view. Total seclusion and total secrecy was the motto of the asylum and they live up to that.
