Noahs POV
Once I arrive home I call Elle to let her know I am safe. I head to my room and unpack, get my laundry sorted out, I laugh at myself as I walk over to my laundry basket and actually put my clothes in it. Elle would be proud of me.
The next day is brutal trying to find my class, they did some rearranging of rooms over the summer, then once in the class listening to my professor tell us everything we are going to go through this semester, freaked the crap out of me. Thank god quite a few of my friends made it through and we have each other to push us through these last few steps or should I call them hurdles, just by what was explained to us.
Anyhow first month down, now to apply for my LSAT. I am so nervous about it. Between going to school to finish my bachelors to trying to study for the LSAT this year is going to be crazy. On top of all that I have to fit time in with Elle. We have planned to see each other on Thanksgiving, which I know is far off, but our schedules especially mine in my final year, is so overwhelming, but we will be fine we can do this.
One night I get a call from Chloe, we haven't talked in quite a while. She didn't return to due her masters, instead, Kevin asked her to marry him and they are living in New York. I don't much appreciate her boyfriend, I try to be polite to him for Chloe's sake, but the guy is just so arrogant that it drives me nuts, and the way he treats Chloe, makes my blood boil.
"Hey Bestie, how are you?" She sounded like she was trying to be upbeat
"Good, you?"
"Sorry I have not talked to you in quite a while, we have been travelling with Kevin's orchestra. I have been all over the place in the last year. How are you and Elle doing?" I can hear a strain in her voice.
"Actually really good, we got engaged just before the summer, she got her internship so she is heading to Japan for six months in about a years time."
"Wow, she is doing amazing and I am proud that you finally took the plunge and did it. You always said one day that girl will be mine forever." She laughs a little, sounding a little bit more like her.
"Ya I did, and it feels right, everything is falling into place. I have my LSAT's this year and fingers crossed head to law school next year."
"Boy, you sure have your life planned. I am proud of you. From the boy who walked into Harvard all sure of himself, then got a dose of reality and started to fall on his face, until i came along and saved your sorry ass and now look at you."
"Thanks to you and Elle, you two women have made me who I am now." I chuckle
"Anyhow I have to talk to you about something important." Her tone changed again, there was that strain sound again with a little sadness to it.
"Oh, oh ok go ahead I am all ears."
"Well, Kevin and I are getting married in a month, just a really small and simple service, I had a few people I really want there, but had to cut the list, basically just immediate family. I wanted to let you know cause I can't invite you. I didn't want you to hear that I had got married and never said anything to you." She seem to stop short of something else she wanted to say.
"Congrats, and I understand. But you sound like there is more."
"No, it's all good. My parents divorced and well that has been a bit of headache, to say the least."
"Sorry to hear that." I could still feel there was more but she won't talk.
"Anyhow I have to go, Kevin, is going to be home soon, and I have to have dinner ready when he walks in."
