The Morning After

Damon groaned while trying to cover his face at the light coming into the room. He'd been alive nearly two centuries and still wasn't a morning person. He had a sweet moment of nothingness before everything from the day before came rushing back to him. His eyes flew up and he sat up quickly, looking beside him in the bed. Isadora was still fast asleep, trying to replenish all the energy she had used yesterday but Klaus was nowhere to be seen. Damon felt panic rush through his body. Klaus was the one he was most worried about, Isadora knew how to process everything, but Klaus was going to take it much harder. Klaus tried to show he didn't care but deep down, his siblings were the thing he held dearest.

After some searching, Damon found the blonde hybrid outside sitting on a bench by the lake behind the house. Before heading out to him, Damon made a quick breakfast wrap of eggs, ham, hash browns, and cheese. The raven-haired man was almost sure Klaus hadn't eaten since yesterday. He wrapped it in a paper towel and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge before heading over to his mate. Klaus looked a bit startled to suddenly find Damon next to him but he knew better than to deny the food Damon offered. He'd learned it was a surefire way to make the raven angry. The pair sat in comfortable silence until Elijah came out looking a little panicked.

"Do either of you know where Kol went?" Elijah asked them.

Damon shook his head. "Last I knew he was in the house but that was last night when we all got back."

"Knowing that idiot he's run off somewhere. Kol was never one to be open with the rest of us," Klaus nearly snapped out.

Elijah sighed and sped back inside. He had to find a way to keep the rest of his family together. A voice in the back of his head told him it was impossible given their current track record but he was sure as hell going to try. Elijah wouldn't let the family he had left slip through his fingers. He knew Rebekah was still in her room and Isadora was most likely still sleeping so he wasn't too worried about them at the current moment. He could help them when they came out.

A/N: Sorry it's short, but there's more on the way. Finally had a moment to sit down and write some. Also, couple of gifs from a new ADHD hyper fixation
