Its lakes,

Jewels waiting to be found.

Spread far and wide,

Of diverse variety.

'The Lake District' may have the biggest,

But Mercia has numerous.

Some ornamental,

Some for events

In water-sports.

For painters, poets, story tellers,

Photographers.

Picnics,

With family, friends or

For romance...

There are rainbow meadows;

Forest sanctuaries,

For timid creatures to hide and thrive.

There are even coastlines,

For wading birds

And surfers to surf...

There is architecture,

Old and new.

Tales of tales,

Of fables,

Of comedy,

Of tragedy,

Of love...
