In search of complexity

Marketplace world My love, hold me tight,
Before I made vanish from the crowd.

My intentional pricking never made you turn,
You still extended your heart on your hand.

You were a simple burst of colourful cosy swirl,
In my complicated, cold and grey world.

You spliced my broken pieces in gold,
I struggled to pick without piercing,

I brimmed with the echoing emptiness until,
The cadence of your voice smiled my name.

I saw you coaxing my thorns to bloom,
As the deep red roses of the wild.

You peeled the burned crusts of loneliness away; Kissing awake the delicate rosebuds of my innocent love.

I unravel like the yarn under your loving touch;
Longing to be weaved as a shirt on your chest.

I trembled with my sickly sweet longing,
Afraid of the fickleness of my mayfly life.

My eternal muse! How would I die? When my hands thrum with life to immortalise you through art.

I went far as to beg the mischievous fate,
To not snatch my breath away, I wanted to feel you through my ever breathing art.

Art! That's what you were for me, The truth,
The elixir to awaken my deadened womanness.

I wrapped my senses in your bold colours,
Wishing it to be my only shroud during death.

The moon shied red behind the earth, Hearing the intimate whispers of our soul.

You gracefully guided the cupid's arrow,
Piercing through the armour of my thorny past.

A drizzle of stellar rain on my skin,
When your eyes betrothed my heart.

You placed a ring on my ink and paint accoutred fingers,
Crowning it with the pearl from your home, The sea.

We waltzed on the shore, under the cosmic audience,
The cheers of waves a pleasant company.

The unfortunate mortal body has its limit,
We lie on the soft lap of ever caring sand.

And watched the moon and ocean talk,
Leaning on each other, smiling at last.

To my husband
