Top 2?! Really?!
I was fuming in anger. I was beaten by my rival by one point. ONE POINT. I don't wanna settle for number 2! I liked being the top student in our school. Ever since that new boy came here, he's been stealing the spotlight. We've been fighting for the number one spot all the time.
The Science Quiz Bee is in a few days. I'll be ready. I'm gonna get that number 1 spot back. I'm up for the challenge, Mr. Kim Namjoon.
"Y/N! Yah are you even listening?!" My best friend literally screamed in my ear. Of course I didn't hear him. I was too busy in my own little world.
"Aish, Taehyungie! No need to shout! So what were you saying?!" I shouted back to annoy him. He pouted. We walked to the library while continuing the conversation.
"I was asking if you're alright. You looked mad a while ago when the results came up." He said while giving me a concerned look.
"I'll get that number 1 spot back Tae. Your cousin better be ready." I answered, almost in a threatening way.
"Aish, why are you both obsessed with being number 1? He doesn't even hang out with me anymore, he just studies. STUDY. STUDY. STUDY. I don't understand! I hate studying, but then you both are so into it like WTF?" He had a disgusted look on his face that made me laugh.
"Then be glad I still hang out with you even if I'm studying." I sassily said which made him whine like a baby.
"Yah! Be normal for once! You and my cousin are driving me crazy!"
"In what way am I driving you crazy?" A voice suddenly popped up from behind us. It was none other than Kim Namjoon.
"Hyung! Let's hang out pleaseee! We don't hang out anymoreee." Taehyung pouted and hugged his cousin.
"I have to study for the quiz bee Taehyung. Maybe after graduation, when I give my valedictorian speech." He smirked at me. This guy I swear.
"Now hold on, how sure are you that you'll be valedictorian? I'll be the number 1 student by then. Hm, but I guess you're free to dream on, create your fantasies, and live your imaginary life." I smirked back as I placed my hands on my hips. He frowned which made me happy.
"I see you're still challenging me. I guess that one point bothered you a lot huh?" He laughed. He's really getting on my nerves.
"Heyyy, please don't fight! Let's just all hang out, just this once. Take a break from being serious and from being rivals. The quiz bee is still a few days away! Come on, just this once! I want my best friend and cousin to get along. Come on let's go!" Despite our protests, Taehyung literally pulled us and dragged us out of the gates, and went to the arcade cafe at the back of our school.
