I heard the nudes
I saw the melodies
I spoke with dudes
Who sang remedies
You can't tell me of my innocence
You can't sing to me songs of my own repentance
You can't part from happenstance
You can't shy a fool away from a lover's stance
This love I concoct for thee
Like curses it swears me
Like death it mocks me
Like silk it wears me
Within the atmosphere, shy & corrosive,
Love needs no question;
Or so they say: those sly & those interpretive.
But I know I need no mirror for reflection
