riley's pov
I woke up extra early today felt a little different from usual days. I went to my bathroom and took a shower. did my shower routine, once I was done I brushed my teeth. I walked back to my room, picking out my outfit for the day (pic in media). once I was done I went back to do my hair, I blow dried it and put it in a bun.

I grabbed my things and headed downstairs, it sounded like crying was happening and I didn't want to step in. so i waited on the stairs.

jake finally came downstairs, "what's going?" he asked, "I don't know but it sounds serious" i replied. listening in.

"junior honey, can you come in here please" bree said. junior walked in he seemed nervous. "hi come have a seat for a sec" she said I felt so bad. "mom, what's going on?" he asked his voice shaking. "um—your mother is—your mother is. excuse me" logan said not able to finish his sentence.

logan left the kitchen and walked passed jake and I. "i'm sorry, sweetheart" she started, trying to control her crying. "um, there's something I have to tell you" she began. "and there's no easy way to say it" "im sick" she said. me and jake shared a look.

"sick?" junior questioned, "hey, I don't want you to worry" she said, "mom?" he paused, "what's going on?" he asked. "it's um—it's cancer" she said. "you're—you're gonna be okay, right?" junior asked his voice becoming more shaking.

"you're gonna be okay?" he asked again, "we're gonna get through this together, junior" she said. "please don't worry." "come here, buddy" she sniffled. I could hear both hers and junior's sobs and it completely broke my heart. "I love you, buddy" she said.

jake and I decided to give them more time until they were ready. "jake im sorry" I said hugging him, "what's gonna happen if she dies? she's the only one holding the family together" jake whispered, "don't worry whatever happens we're get through it together" I smiled.

"come on let's go inside" I said holding jake's hand. "hey.." I said entering the kitchen, "oh good morning" bree said wiping her tears. "were you guys there the whole time?" she asked, "we didn't want to interrupt your talk" I said. "aunt bree im sorry" jake said hugging her. "oh sweetie, this is not your fault" she said kissing his forehead.

"you can't leave, you're the only person I have as a mom figure"  I said. "oh honey, I don't want any of you to worry. we will get through this together I promise" she said.

junior looked so sad, I mean who wouldn't, he just found out his mom has cancer. "junior im so sorry" I said embracing him in a big hug, he laid his head on my shoulder and started sobbing. "come on, jake let's give them a minute" bree said.

"junior baby, im here it's okay. I promise I'll be with you every step of the way" I said rubbing his back. "I dont know if I can handle if my mom dies" he cries harder. "I am so sorry about our fight, riley I need you with me. I can't handle this without you" junior cried. "junior baby I love you and i'm here for you" I smiled and kissed him.

"I can't believe this is happening" he said, "I know it's the worst thing but your mom is so strong she'll handle this" I said. "she has an appointment today with her therapist, I don't want her to go alone. will you come with me?" he asked "of course, count me in" I smiled.

"maybe you should take a little rest before we go" I said, "will you take one with me"? he asked. "yes let's go" I said holding his hand. we made our way to his room, and took a little nap.

jake, devon, and lexi were planning on how to catch chucky tonight. if only junior believed us, im trying so hard to protect him, I just don't know how.

I heard soft knocks at the door, "junior" I heard his mom say, "sweetie, it's time to go" she said shaking him.

we both got up and got in the car. "i'll see you later, jake" I said hugging him. I took junior's hand in mine until we got to the car, he sat in the front and me well obviously in the backseat. I would feel my hands getting sweaty, like something was off. why did this feel so weird to me?
