Chapter Ten

"How do you think she should tell her?" Peter mumbled to Michelle as they sat on the lounge watching Athena sit on the floor on one of the padded mats they got her, happily and messily drawing with crayon on some paper as she watched the little mermaid,

"Well I mean, it can't be all too bad to sit her down and tell her right?" Michelle looked at him worried,

"What is she don't like the idea of a sibling?" Peter looked at her equally worried,

"I'm 15 weeks along Peter, she's going to notice my belly growing more and more," Michelle told him rubbing her small pot belly bump lovingly, "and I want to tell her before everyone else so she didn't overwhelm with it all,"

Peter hummed agreeing, "Athena my little princess, come here honey for a minute," he gently picked a adorably confused Athena up and sat her between him and Michelle, 

"what?" Athena asked cutely pouting,

"Baby girl! mommy has some very exciting news to tell you!" Michelle told her smiling widely, "and this news is very good news, it's more love in the family, big love!" she continued,

"what it?" Athena questioned making them chuckle, she was indeed still learning her words,

"Well mommy is going to have a baby soon, your going to be a big sister," Peter told Athena gently,

Athena frowned, "where baby?" she asked confused,

"Baby is in here growing," Michelle pulled her shirt up to show Athena her bump, "Baby needs to be in mommy's belly so she can help the baby grow,"

"Uh!" Athena pushed Michelle with her little hands away and slid off the lounge with a upset face,

"Athena!" Peter gasped at her attitude, "Mommy wasn't being mean! that was very naughty to push mommy!"

"She doesn't want another sibling..." Michelle said upset, "Athena, baby girl, come here to mommy, she loves you very much still, baby is not going to stop that," she went to grab Athena to hug her,

"NO!" Athena screamed whacking her moms hands away from her and got up running off,

"Athena!" Peter got up in disbelief as he heard a door slam most likely the pantry door since it was sliding, "Oh MJ, she just doesn't understand, she'll be okay!" he comforted his upset crying wife,

"She's always been our baby! Oh I know she doesn't understand but it doesn't hurt any less! she won't even let me hold her!" Michelle cried to him sniffling,

"I'll go and talk with her okay? please don't stress out so much, Athena will come around," Peter assured her, kissing her head sighing and got up to comfort their upset daughter,

"Athena..." he sighed stopping outside the shut door, "Okay, you come out when you're ready okay? but daddy is going to talk with you through this door," he told her remembering the option trick,

"Now Athena mommy is very upset right now and I know you didn't mean to upset mommy like that but we don't hit people and push them away like that especially those who we love," Peter continued as he sat down on the floor by the door,

"Princess..." he sighed hearing some crying from inside, "The baby doesn't mean we're going to love you any less, Athena, we are going to love you no matter what and that won't change, the baby just means more love for Athena, the baby is going to love you too and they will love to have such a funny little girl like you as a big sister," he explained gently,

"The baby is not going to replace you, no one can replace you, you are forever stuck with mommy and daddy." he promised her sighing sadly, "Athena, come on open the door and come sit with daddy okay? we can talk about this," he told her softly, 

He waited for a little bit before he heard her footsteps and the door slid open to show her upset sniffling crying face, "Oh Athena!" He grabbed her gently and cradled him to her fatherly, "Tell daddy what's wrong,"

"love love baby more!" Athena sniffled to him so upset,

"No! we wouldn't love the baby more! We would love the baby just as much as we love you, no less and no more," Peter told her cuddling with her warmly as she gripped onto him,

"My mommy!" Athena whined to him,

"She is your mommy and she still is your mommy. Athena the baby isn't going to take mommy away from you, mommy will always be there to give you cuddles and tuck you into bed and read with you... thats not going to change," Peter assured her kissing her head softly,

"Just like me, the baby is not going to take me away from you," He promised her, "the baby is going to make this family have more love and laugher plus you'll have someone to play with, wouldn't that be nice? to play with someone so you're not alone? huh?" he asked her,

"Hm!" Athena hummed stubbornly making him chuckle softly, she was so a mini Michelle,

"I promise you with all my heart that the baby is not going to take me and mommy away from you. In fact the baby might even want to play with you more then play with mommy and daddy," he told her rubbing her back to comfort her, 

"Athena I promise you, you are never going to ever be replaced, the baby is just another family member, one we all will love but never more then you, we would love you both equally," he assured softly, 

"Like... Elsa and Anna huh? Elsa is just like you, she was alone with her mommy and daddy before Anna came along, and they are very close sisters aren't they? their mommy and daddy didn't love one more then the other," he tried to explain more in a way she would understand,

"Baby be close to me?" Athena asked making sure,

"I am sure you and the baby will be amazing siblings just like Elsa and Anna!" Peter confirmed nodding, "There you see... Athena we love you very much, the baby is not coming to change that," he smiled and patted her hair as she looked up at him, 

"Mommy sad?" Athena asked looking guilty,

"Mommy is a little sad but you know what would make her better?" Peter asked gently wiping her tears away, "If you went and gave mommy and big hug, the would feel so much better," she smiled, "Okay? you going to make mommy happy again?"

"Okay!" Athena smiled widely making his smile widen so glad she was happy again, "let go mommy!"

"Okay lets go to mommy!" Peter chuckled getting up with her, letting her go run off to Michelle walking after her amused,

"Mommy!" Athena screamed and hugged Michelle's leg,

"Athena!" Michelle sniffled wiping her tears looking down at her surprised, "Can mommy give you cuddles now?" she asked hopeful,

"Yes mommy!" Athena smiled up at her making Michelle gasp and pick her up, hugging to her motherly and happily, 

"you okay with baby now?" Michelle asked as she kissed Athena's head, 

"We be like Elsa and Anna!" Athena told her mom happily,

"Just go with it," Peter told Michelle when she lookef ast him confused, "I'll tell you later just enjoy this," he chuckled leaning on a wall watching them proud of his little family,

"Yes you will be like Elsa and Anna! the best of friends going on adventures together!" Michelle told Athena who gasped happily at that, 

"when baby here?" Athena asked curiously,

"Baby won't be here for a long time yet so you can help mommy and daddy pick babies name and we can go shopping for new toys for you and stuff for baby too," Michelle told her giggling,

"Tiana!" Athena happily told her mom, "Like name!"

"You like the name Tiana! oh it is very beautiful!" Michelle nodded her head smiling widely, "But we got to think of boy names as well,"

"Nah ah, want sister!" Athena shook her head stubbornly at that, "Tiana!"

"well take it for now!" Peter announced laughing not wanting to cause another fight with Athena,
