I danced against Cayden, letting the Weeknd song guide my hips as the drugs and alcohol made their way through my body.

I'd never felt so carefree before like I could literally fly or jump off a cliff and survive. In that moment I was thankful for my father for busting his ass so that I could have his moment. I didn't miss that tiny hole of an apartment, I didn't miss our beat-up furniture, and I didn't miss my drab cheap clothes.

Climbing up onto Heather's car, I held up the bottle of tequila and shouted triumphantly, "The one percent!"

They cheered me on as I drank the last of it then I smashed the bottle onto the ground shattering it against a rock.

Suddenly my legs were swept out from under me, I was falling but I landed safely in Cayden's arm where he kissed me ferociously. I ran my fingers through his perfect blonde hair, it was as soft as I always imagined it would be.

He picked me up, never breaking the kiss, and carried me away from everyone and to one of the abandoned cars. He laid me down on the hood, his kisses wandering down my neck.

When I heard the sound of his zipper I stopped and pushed him back, "What are you doing?"

"Come on El, I've seen the way you look at me, I know you want this." he pressed more kisses down my neck and I sighed. He took that as his chance to kiss me hard while one hand wandered towards my zipper.

He leaned in to kiss me but I leaned away. "Yeah but not on some rusty car in an abandoned lot with our friends a few feet away..."

"Our friends?"

"Yes, our friends. I'm one of you guys now."

"Not yet, you're not." He chuckled as he leaned down, "There's just one more thing..."

I pushed him away, "No, I'm not fucking you to get into your crowd. I-I actually like you."

"Then show me you like me," he leaned down over me again but I pushed him back.

Cayden started to say something but was interrupted by Elise's whistle. "Hey fuckers, bring those asses back over here!"

"Brielle is feeling a little apprehensive about finishing her initiation," Cayden said as he pulled me back towards everybody.

"Oh come on now Brielle, you've come so far now! Don't give up!" Callie slurred, "It's the best part! It's what we've all been waiting for..."

"What do you mean?"

Elise licked her lips, "I've seen the way you've been looking at me."

"And me," Cayden said.

"And me," Callie said.

"And me," Callie's boyfriend smirked.

"Us too but we're watchers, not players." Heather smiled as she stroked Ethan's arm which was draped casually over hers.

"Watchers? I-I-I don't understand."

Elise came over to me with a drink in hand, I didn't know where she got it from and it looked like tequila but something about the coloring was off.

"Drink up Alice..." She smirked.

"What is it?" I asked.

She shook her head, uncorked the drink and pushed it to my lips, "Don't think, just drink..."

I let her tip the liquid down my throat. It didn't taste any different than what I'd been drinking all night but when it hit my stomach I felt different. I felt like I was floating into space, I could feel everything but somehow I was numb at the same time.
