Four years ago,
my heart was put on a test.
Painfully,
I put my pen to rest.
To a new opportunity,
I gave my best.
In the city,
new goals I set.
New people
in my life I met.
Never thought
I would get
someone so hard
to forget.
When my dreams got shattered
When my skies turned gray
An angel came,
she smiled and said, "Hey!"
She encouraged me to stay,
Every day we always pray.
We built new dreams together.
Defeated an unbreakable stranger.
Our fight cross shores and barriers,
I thought it would last forever.
Until, the pen knocks again on my door.
Indeed first love will knock you on the floor.
I got to leave a place I once called home.
Be back on the battlefield I almost abandoned.
In my heart the quest
with my angel remains.
No distance of place
nor lapse of time
could lessen our friendship
worth a thousand times.
