Just as Sungchan had hoped, he and Shotaro did end up waking up cuddled up on the couch on Christmas morning. While Shotaro did think that it was romantic, it was definitely not at all good for his back. When he stood up, it took him a while to get completely stretched out. He was getting old, after all.

The older you are, the lower your chances of fertility get.

Shotaro shook his head. He shouldn't have been thinking about that. He was barely 30. He had lots of time left. Besides, it was Christmas, and children and pregnancy were not the things that he should've been thinking about in the moment.

Instead, he watched his husband shoot up from the couch, already sprinting the two steps that were made into one by his long legs over to the tree. Sungchan was always so free-sprited during Christmas, and Shotaro was jealous. Really, it was like seeing a child in front of him.

He and Sungchan slowly worked through their gifts. Shotaro gawked at the adorable headphones that Mark had gotten him, and Sungchan quite literally started jumping for joy when he saw the weighted blanket that Jaehyun got (he needed one for, like, years).

"I've got one last gift for you."

Shotaro looked up at Sungchan, who was already standing. "Just stand up and cover your eyes."

"Okay...?" Shotaro did as he was asked, covering his eyes with his hands. He could hear Sungchan's footsteps receeding to the stairs before they came back again.

"Okay... open."

Shotaro opened his eyes, a combination of confusion and shock pumping through his veins when he looked down at Sungchan. The latter was on one knee, a velvet box (which was empty) popped open in his hands.

"It's going to be our five years in February, you know. So I just wanted to ask you to marry me again. I know it's a small anniversary, but we could renew our vows or something..."

"Oh, of course!" Shotaro pulled Sungchan onto his feet, kissing him square on the lips despite there being a lack of mistletoe underneath the tree. When he pulled back, his eyes fell to the box that Sungchan held.

"Now, why is that empty?"

"We promised not to take off our rings ever since we got married, and if I got another one that means we'd have to take them off. Hence the empty box."

"Interesting."

"I'm just happy you said yes again." Sungchan pulled Shotaro in by his waist. "Now to spend the rest of the day making out."
