So I know that some of you might start to get confused, or are already confused, about my mermaid AU and I honestly get kind of confused about it too.
Recently, I made some updates to the profile chapters, specifically to Layla, Lily, and Rosie.
Warning: Spoilers ahead if you haven't finished the Fishman Island Arc
So here's what I need to tell you guys:
Ages:
Instead of Fawn being picked up with Koala by the Sun Pirates, she and her friends would be mermaids, living in Fishman Island. But, I still made most of them the same ages as they actually were. During the episode where the Sun Pirates return and the Celestial Dragon also comes, that takes place about two years after Fisher Tiger's death. Hody Jones is 20 years old, and Lily is the same age as him. Meaning that during this time (Celestial, Otohime's assassination, the energy steroids being stolen, etc.) all the girls are two years older than when they were introduced in their starting chapters/what it says in their profile.
Lily-20, Layla-22, Fawn-21, Arianna-23, Scarlett-23, Marina-22
The only OC who's age I changed was Rosie's. So, instead of being 12, like she usually is in my "regular" chapters, she is actually 17-18 (I haven't decided yet). The only reason I decided to do this was because I usually don't give Rosie as much attention due to her being so much younger than the other girls and not being able to participate in a lot of stuff that they get to do. So making her older gives her more opportunities for larger scenes.
Devil Fruits:
They do not have devil fruit powers in the AU
Plot:
In my regular chapters, I focus on Fawn, Arianna, Scarlett, and Marina. But, in my AU, I focus more on Layla, Lily, and Rosie. I will focus a bit on Fawn just because she's technically the main character, but these three will be a pretty big focus.
Relationships/Love Interests:
Arianna and Scarlett will remain with their usual love interests. Fawn, on the other hand will be romantically involved with Jinbe instead of Arlong.
Marina will be involved romantically with Macro in the AU, but she is with Take in the non-AU
Lily's love interests are Hody Jones and Vander Decken. Hody has had a crush on Lily since the day they met, but she does not return his feelings, as she sees him as just her friend. But, Vander Decken falls in love with Lily and she does actually return his feelings after a little while. Hody is NOT happy about this and is slightly yandere/very protective over Lily. He is really really in love with her and will pretty much want to do anything to get her to love him back.
Layla and Zeo love each other and have had a secret relationship for a few years. Not much drama in this, but they do love each other a lot.
Rosie doesn't really pay attention to romance, but five fishmen are in love with her. Ikaros Much, Dosun, Daruma, Hyouzou, and Hammond. Not sure what I want to do with this yet, but I think I want to have her reciprocate Hammond's feelings.
Height:
Like I originally stated in the beginning of my first AU chapter, every girl is one foot taller than they are as humans. Human Fawn is 5'8, meaning mermaid Fawn is 6'8. And older human Rosie is only 5'5, which means...mermaid Rosie is 6'5. Pretty simple XD
Tails/Colors:
I'm not completely sure what to do about tail and top colors yet, to be honest. Probably going to go with tail colors associated with their eye color or human clothing color. So probably...
Fawn-Bright blue, Lily-Pink, Layla-Emerald green, Rosie-Dark purple, Arianna-Black, Scarlett-Dark red, Marina-Silvery gold (idk)
For their tops, I'm thinking just the same color but with some sort of design. Haven't decided on that yet. I might just leave that part up to your guys' imaginations ;)
Separate endings:
I really don't know if I want to do separate endings. I will admit, I have written a few Hody x Lily oneshots on paper, but I do know that I want to keep Decken x Lily as my main focus for the AU. The fishman get captured at the end of their fight and the negative effects of the energy steroid finally catch up to all of them. I don't know if I want to do a separate ending where they find a way to help, if I just want to save Zeo (for Layla ofc), or if I just don't do a separate ending at all. Lemme know if you guys have any suggestions.
So I think that's all I can think of right now. If there's anything you guys want me to explain, please let me know! I'll be happy to answer your questions or hear your suggestions.
As always, requests for oneshots/imagines/preferences/etc. are still open!!!! I'm suffering a bit from writers block at the moment. I have part three for the AU that's probably going to be published sometime this week, but once I'm done with that, my ideas are kinda bland and boring. I would LOVE to see any ideas you guys come up with.
I will pretty much do any relationship for my oneshots that I've established. Fawn x Jinbe or Arlong, Lily x Decken or Hody, Scarlett x Chew, etc. I'll even do a oneshot for Rosie if you'd like. So, please, let me know in the comments or in PM if you'd like to request!
