Y/n tossed and turned all night. So Nobara and I agreed to keep moving. I'd carry y/n until she wake up as her brother and megumi return to the castle and when things are safe they'll send for us.

"If she's getting heavy I can carry her on my back." Nobara offered. But I shook my head. She wasn't heavy at all. She was so light. Too light. I think she's coming down with a cold though. Thankfully that cottage was finally in view.

I was relieved. A warm room.. I don't care if I have to sleep on the floor. But I wanted a bath.. I looked down at y/n. I wondered how she will handle herself being around Nanami again. Being around him after what she knows.

Honestly the thought of him look at her with an ounce of feeling and emotion bothers me. But I would hope he can compose himself in front of his fiancé and myself.

Nobara banged on the door for a few moments and there he was. The man lucky enough to avoid me at my own castle. For the first time I'm looking. Into the eyes of the man who can potentially steal my wife from me. "What time is it?" He grumbled shirtless rubbing his eyes until they focused and realized what they were seeing. "Your alive" he gasped. Then he shot a glance at her. His eyes soften and it was written all over his face. He was utterly and completely still head over heels in love with her. His arms reached out to grab her but I tightened my grip and moved out his way.

"My wife is fine. She's just caught a cold." I gave him a heartless expression with a bit of warning. She's mine.

"This is the only place safe for his and her majesty. Since it's completely off the grid and off official paper." Nobara explained but a beautiful green haired woman in a long T-shirt stepped from behind him

"We have have 2 spare rooms. They aren't big but they're cozy." I had to admit her voice was mesmerizing. And her legs.  God she had some nice legs. She looked nothing like her sister. She guided me upstairs to a room where I could set y/n down. "Here." She handed me some clothes. "I have some words for you.." there goes the similarity. They were too outspoken and judging from her tone I won't like those words she have to say. So I carefully begun to undress y/n and nodded For her to continue. "I've heard a lot of rumors flying through court about how awful you treated my sister. You left her alone on your wedding night ? You've been seen sleeping with the maids? You hadn't touched my sister since the wedding-"

"All of which is no concern of yours. Bunch of baseless rumors" I pretend to struggle to place on her shit just to keep up the appearance and she sucked her teeeth slapping my away to do it herself.

"It's my concern when all the nobles are speaking I'll of my own sister. She won't defend herself so I will."

"She's quite capable of defending herself.

"In a fight but-"

"My wife is capable." I repeat "and if my sources were right weren't you the one who tortured her the most with your abuse. I'm sure y/n mentioned to me before that you even hated her. Don't play games with me. I won't allow you to pitty her or kick her while she's down. And that goes for this bitches at court. Y/n is empress. My empress."

"Oh fuck you" she spat. "I'm not falling for that shit. Your maids already told everyone how lustful you are. You don't even like my sister you tolerate her. I love my sister. Because she and I don't get along won't change that. I don't pitty her. As if I would ever. And I can't kick her while she's down." She looked and notice the slight swollen bump. "No." She muttered. Shooting her glances at me "is she pregnant?"

"Yes. You can tell your gossiping circle the rumors they spread are lies. I may not go to her chambers but she rarely leaves mine." I floated a bit. It was a lie but not completely. Only recently.

"You're an even bigger idiot than I thought you were." She said angrily. "Tell Nanami I need warm water  , rags , towels and rum."

"What on earth for ? It's just a cold"

"It's not a cold." Her breathe hitched fill with panic. "You can't see because your blind but she has dry and drag blood on her thighs. It's not a cold she's out because of blood loss."

I stood up to my feet so fast and patted the bed to feel her. With the windows shut it was hard to see through the mask. "My child.." I muttered.

"It's best if you accept the fact that it's already gone. Now go get Nanami before my sister is taken with it."

"Why so he can look at her nude body? No man will see her like this !" I shouted.

"You are stupid!!" She shouted. "All I asked was you get those things from him!  Do you want my sister to die ?"
