Meher, sat by her study table with a bunch of unsolved question papers at hand. She leaned over to look at the remaining books of analogy kept side for her references.

The pile of books however stressed her out. She relaxed her back on the chair and glanced her eyes over the books shutting them in disbelief.

"𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤! 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤! 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤!"

She excalimed in disbelief.

It was downpouring as usual.

The patting sound of the raindrops falling on the window panes added a kind of distraction to her concentration.

She kept her belongings aside and moved towards the window.

Sneaking a glance at the weather outside that seemed grim and black clouds covering up the sky and the fresh wind hitting her senses.

Her senses were caught up when a sudden screech was heard. She leaned over to the other side to examine from where the sound came from.

But found nothing.

She placed her hands on the handles of the window panes pulling it inside so as to close them.

Somehow she liked the rains.

Far away in the midst of the bushes a shaggy movement was observed.

The creature seemed to creep out from behind the bush and hid itself behind the long bark of a tree.

The eyes still glancing at the open window.

"Here you go Meher."

a familar voice called out from behind.

It was her best friend Zarah who barged into the room placing a cup of coffee on the table and muttering in an obvious tone,

"Enjoy!"

A cheeky chuckle appeared on Meher getting flustered at her best friend's childish gestures.

Grabbing the coffee taking a sip, she sat down checking upon her assignments taking gradual sips.

The warm liquid ran down her throat producing some heat of comfort in this extremely cold weather.

Ticking upon the list of completed points a calming excitement ran down within herself. Her work was finally complete.

When immediately Zarah appeared from behind attacking her in an embrace wrapping her arms around her shoulders, astonishing Meher.

Meher grabbed the sheet of paper and placed it in Zarah's hands and showed all ticks on the paper to her as Zarah stood awestruck in amazement that they were actually able to complete such a difficult assignment.

"You're a genius Meher" She exclaimed glancing her eyes through the sheet.

Meher gave a smile, shrugging her shoulders aside, flipping her hair at the back as gesture indicating the fact indicating,

"𝐈 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰."

Meher then looked up at her watch and turned back collecting her belongings inorder to reach home as early as possible without stressing her father.

Zarah chuckled at her coolness, her smile gradually growing dim.

"I wish you could smile more."

Meher heard.

Her expression dropped as the realization hits that she had almost forgotten how it feels like almost to laugh, be happy, have friends with whom you could hang around, most importantly be free.
