Truth be told, being an Avenger wasn't as glorious as everyone made it out to be. Really, it was only once every couple months that you'd have to stop a world ending event.
Most of the time, they were confined to whatever crimes took place in the city. Some days it was aliens, others it was Inhumans, mutants, monsters that probably came from one of the other realms. Some days it was just regular people thinking they were worth something.
Today was an alien day.
"Anyone have eyes on the target?" Adi asked through the comms.
"I see him!" Makoto exclaimed. "He's in an alleyway.. looks like he's attacking someone. I'm sending out my location now."
Bruno opened the map on his VISCO, noticing the blinking red dot by the Oscorp Tower. That's where Makoto was. The boy spread his robotic, dragon-like wings and lifted off.
Venom had been a thorn in their side for a while now. He showed up not too long after Maximus's attack, and had since been wreaking havoc on New York. Most of the time, dealing with him was left up to the Future Avengers.
Bruno glanced up at the Oscorp Tower as he passed by it. Since Norman Osborn was arrested, his son, Harry Osborn, had taken over the company. Bruno didn't know too much about the whole "Green Goblin" situation, nor did he care about it, so as long as this new owner didn't cause any trouble, Bruno couldn't be bothered by it.
The boy eventually spotted the rest of his friends sitting on top of a small building and rushed to join them.
"Took you long enough," Chloe commented.
"Hush," Bruno muttered. "Where is he?"
"Down there." Adi pointed to the large, dark alien the group had been looking for. He had some man in his grasp.
"There were others fighting him-" Makoto started. "-but they ran away-"
"So it's up to us," Chloe said, hopping down.
"Chloe, wait!" Adi yelped. Makoto jumped down after her.
"So much for a plan," Bruno commented before following them. Adi rolled his eyes, but joined them as well.
"Hey!" Chloe hissed. Venom turned to face them. "Let that man go!"
"You again," Venom snarled. "Can't I have one good evening without you kids trying to ruin it?"
"Put him down," Adi ordered. Venom scowled, but dropped the man, who scrambled out of the alleyway.
"I don't know what makes your team so obsessed with me," Venom started.
"You know exactly why! You're a criminal," Makoto hissed.
"Am I?" Venom questioned. "Or do my looks just intimidate you and your Avengers?"
"You eat people," Chloe commented.
"Fair," Venom shrugged. "But you know- speaking of food- well, that man could have made for a nice meal, but, you chased him away." The creature stalked closer towards the kids. "I need to eat at least something to survive, and you four have been a pain the ass for a while now.."
The monster lunged for them, but was quickly intercepted by Bruno. The others stumbled back as Venom was knocked away. The monster snarled and tried to grab at him, but Bruno scrambled away. Venom rolled onto his stomach, which Bruno took as an opportunity to jump back on top of him.
Suddenly, four mechanical arms sprouted from Bruno's back. Each of them slithered around Venom's body until the creature was restrained. It snarled, but was cut off when Bruno shoved its head down.
