Early Christmas Surprise (Nick Jackson)

Amanda's POV:

Looking down at the dress and heels Nick had picked out, I was sure Nick was up to something. In the five years that I've been dating Nick Jackson not once did we have to dress up for his and Matt's Christmas party. And this year all of a sudden we had to. The past two weeks Nick has been acting weirder than normal. Deciding I'd worry about it later, I went into the bathroom to start curling my hair, then pulled it partially back out of my face. Going back into the bedroom, I checked the time and saw I had a couple of minutes before everyone started showing up. So I quickly put the dress on and slid on the heels, then put on my cross necklace and diamond earrings. 

Once I was sure I was ready, I headed down the hall, I heard people already here. As I was getting ready to see who all it was, the doorbell rang. Yelling out that I had it, I opened the door to Nick's parents. I let everyone in and shut the door behind them. Grabbing the food that they brought, led them into the family room. Looking around I saw that Tyson, Matt & Dana, Brandon & Denise, and Austin & Britt were all here, but I didn't see Nick. Matt must have known that I was looking for him because he pointed toward the kitchen. Nodding my thanks, I walked toward the kitchen to see who else was supposed to show up. Walking in I saw Nick looking at what everyone had brought. Sitting down the food his parents brought, I went over and kissed his cheek. "You think we have enough food?" I joked.

Nick looked me up and down then smiled. "You look absolutely gorgeous."

Blushing slightly, I asked the one question that had been bugging me all day, "Why'd we get all dressed up this year? We normally don't."

Nick smirked, and that right there confirmed he was up to something. "You'll find out later. I promise it's nothing bad."

We walked back into the family room, we both got pulled into separate conversations. I was talking with Britt, Dana, and Denise when I looked around for Nick, I spotted him whispering with Matt, Tyson, and Austin in the corner of the room. Thinking nothing of it, I tuned back into the conversation. After about an hour of visiting with everyone, we were all getting hungry so we all went to the kitchen to get food before going into the dining room to eat. We were all talking about random things when I felt Nick's hand on my knee. Feeling his hand shaking slightly, I leaned over and whispered, "You're shaking Nick, are you feeling ok?"

Nick nodded, leaning over and kissed my cheek, before answering. "I'll be fine. I promise."

Nodding at him, I wasn't convinced, but I took him at his word. I went back to eating and talking to everybody. When we finished dinner, while everyone went back to the family room, Dana and I stayed back to clear the table. While we were cleaning up, I decided to bring up my concerns with how Nick has been acting, wanting to know what she thought. "Something is going on with Nick. The past two weeks he's been acting strange. I keep seeing him and Matt whispering. And look at tonight, we've never dressed up for these and now we all of a sudden are."

"Honey, trust me when I say you have nothing to worry about. I promise. You'll see in a little bit."

Thanking her, I couldn't help but be worried still, though I put it to the back of my mind. We finished up putting the dishes in the dishwasher to be washed up later. Going back into the family room with everyone, I walked over to where Nick was standing with Tyson. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders as I wrapped both arms around his waist and laid my head on his chest. Listening to him talk with Tyson about his injuries and what was going to be happening, I couldn't help but get lost in my thoughts.

I must have zoned out because next thing I know, Nick is telling me that he had to go grab something from the kitchen. Watching as he walked away with Matt following him. When they came back in, Nick was nervously fidgeting. He cleared his throat, gaining everyone's attention. Nick walked over to me, everyone watching his every move.

Taking a deep breath, Nick spoke, "Amanda, we've been together for five years now, and I wouldn't change anything about them. You've stuck by me through the ups and downs. You stayed with me even through all the hard work to get AEW up off the ground. I fall more in love with you everyday. When I first met you, I told Matt that you were going to be the woman I was going to spend the rest of my life with. Little did I know that your brother was one of my best friends. That was definitely a shock."

Nick took another deep breath, then got down on one knee and pulled out a ring box. I looked at him with tears in my eyes and I covered my mouth with my hand. "Amanda Smith, love of my life, will you do the honor of becoming my wife?"

I let out a sob, "Yes, a thousand times yes." Standing, Nick had tears in his eyes as he opened the ring box and put the ring on my finger.

Pulling him down towards me and kissed him. When we pulled back everyone was congratulating us. Tyson pulled me aside for a moment and hugged me. "Did you know?" I asked looking up at my brother.

"Of course I did. Nick came to me a few weeks ago and asked my permission."

Looking over at Nick talking to Matt, I felt more tears gather in my eyes. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.
