~Jaesung's POV~

I sat down after finishing up my look and stared at my cake from the staff, then decided to read the birthday wishes from my fans. As I was scrolling, Miànjù took a seat beside me.

"I've never seen anybody look so neutral when reading birthday wishes from fans." He said.

"Yeah, but how many idols have you seen read birthday wishes?" I asked, teasing him for only debuting last year.

"Okay~" Miànjù understood my teasing.

I couldn't help but slightly snicker to myself before going back to the fan comments. Miànjù did have a point though.

"This is my first birthday as an idol where we are promoting." I opened up to him.

I glanced at the male to see his eyes somewhat widened as he was looking at me. I'm sure he was caught off guard that I was opening up to him. I was surprised myself, but Miànjù was somebody who made me feel safe to open up to.

"I'm not used to it yet." I continued speaking. "Not being able to do what I want on my birthday."

"I see." Miànjù muttered. "Well we are going out to dinner tonight remember?"

"I know." I nodded. "But usually I would want to do something more. And I'm okay with this because it's a cost of pursuing my dream, but it's just something I'm not used to yet."

"For a second there, I thought you were thinking of leaving the group." Miànjù said, sounding full of relief.

"Oh no." I shook my head. "Just have to get used to some changes, that's all."

"Good, because I don't know what I would do without you." Miànjù said.

His comment caused me to look at him. "What do you mean?"

He looked away as he prepared what he was going to say. "You make me feel safe." My eyes widened as he continued to speak. "I'm an extremely quiet person who has trouble talking to people. I don't feel that way with you. I can't imagine how lonely I would feel if you weren't here."

His words caused me to slightly smile as I stared at him. I don't know why but it made me so happy to hear such a thing. As he finished speaking, he looked at me, causing me to look down and wipe the smile off my face.

"Sorry." Miànjù muttered. "For getting so-"

"I feel the same way." I cut him off, looking back up at him.

His eyes widened. "You do?"

I nodded. "I'm exactly like you Miànjù. I'm extremely quiet too and have trouble expressing my emotions. Nobody's been able to get as much emotion out of me as you do."

Miànjù snickered. "I don't get much out of you anyway."

"Yeah, but trust me, it's more than anyone else has been able to get." I responded.

Miànjù just smiled before looking away. I couldn't help but smile at him. Suddenly, Miànjù's eyes fixed on something and he stood up. I watched as he walked over to the spare guitar in the room, bringing it back over and sitting back down, placing it around him.
