It was the day of my trial. I sat alone in my cell. I closed my eyes just letting myself dance with the idea of staying with my family.
My wishful thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a officer approaching hittingmy ears, but I paid it no mind.
"Is that what they gave you to wear?"
My faced dropped in disgust once I heard his voice. I opened my eyes and looked over at Henri. "Sorry, I left my dress at cleaners along with my cloak and my fuck you heels, you pretentious fuck." I said.
"I came here to tell you get changed." Henri said.
"What? You want to help?" I questioned with a smirk on my facing while teasing him with my eyes.
"I also just had a few things to say to you." Henri added.
I rolled my eyes when he wasn't attempting to entertain me. I got off my bed. I was hoping that stripping would get him to leave me alone. My hands held onto the rim of my shirt and pulled it over my head. Once Henri noticed, he turned around so his back faced me.
"Aw, what's wrong?" I asked. "You're the one who wanted to sleep with me. Now you're afraid of seeing my naked. How cute."
"Look, I heard your many conversations with Levi. And I know you didn't do it."
"So what you came to save me? My hero." I put on the gray button up shirt and started doing the buttons.
"No. I just came to say. I misjudged you." Henri said. "I'm not going to do anything during your trial since this is what you claim you want... however if Levi goes through to try to prove your innocence, I will help him."
By the time he was done speaking, I was done dressing up. "And why would you do?" I asked unimpressed.
"Because I believe in real justice." Henri said.
"How noble of you." I added. "You can turn around." I told him. He turned to face me. I approached the bars. I put my arms through the openings. "I wanna let you in a little something. Real justice doesn't exist in this word, just the illusion of it. Henri, I know you're type, you're just a small ant in this big world and it's gonna crush you like a shoe."
"And an ant is needed for a colony."
"Good luck today, (L/n)." He said calling me by my preferred last name. "What ever happens... I hope your content with your decisions." He walked off.
About an hour after Henri left, I was taken out of my cell and put in handcuffs. I was then walked to the court with my hands handcuffed behind my back. The doors were opened for me. I was ushered and then told to kneel down. A metal pillar was placed where the chains of my handcuffs were to restrain me.
I looked to the judge. I looked over to my left where the Scouts were lined up. I looked at Levi who refused to look at me. I looked over to my right where the Military police were and Henri's eyes were forward. These bitches... I sighed and looked up.
The crowd settle down when the judge started to speak. "(F/n) Ackerman, correct? Are you aware of what you're being trialed for?"
"Yes."
"How do you plead?" The judge questioned. The Scouts wanted me to plead not guilty, but...
"Guilty." I answered.
"She's lying." Levi blurted out. I turned my head to glare at him, but he didn't look at me. "Harper (L/n) murdered Samuel Keats."
"Your honor, of course, her husband would defend her. You can't take him seriously." A random person said.
