HARRY POTTER WAS TALKING TO dead people again. Margot knew this, she'd known for a while. And despite Godric's Hollow looking far more full of life━━hell it hadn't been that way since Lily and James Potter had lived in it━━Harry was still missing every day at dawn.

Trembling hands found themselves entertwined with roses, far too many scabs littering hands that had known life and death, the thorns only poked again, and again, and again.

Margot was walking on eggshells as she watched the boy with roses━━no, he wasn't a boy anymore. He wasn't the boy that she had met in an Astrology Tower. He was now someone that had felt the clutch of hell, and yet escaped with effort. He was trying, she knew that.

His apologies muttered under his breath with tear-soaked cheeks did not satisfy the girl who had known late-night embraces as warm as the flaming teenage romance they had cradled for so long.

"It'd do you good to leave them be for a little bit," Margot whispered, Harry's head snapping around towards her. "I know you miss them, love."

"You can't miss people you never knew," he replied bitterly and Margot fought the urge to scoff as she approached him delicately.

"You can," said Margot. "You can because you are missing what you didn't have, what you could of had."

"They didn't deserve it," Harry sighed.

"Lily and James did not," Margot paused, "however the clouds have parted and the sun is shining again, they gave their lives for a cause."

"They didn't know the outcome."

"Yes," Margot shrugged, "but they hoped."

There was still a flicker of hope in Harry's eyes as Margot grinned at him. And slowly, a smile upturned his face and he let out a breath.

"So the agenda for today is?" Harry offered as the two got up.

"Whatever you would like."

author's note !
it's done!! words cannot express
how unhappy i am with this book,
but it is evidence of how much my
writing has changed, and i suppose
that's an achievement in itself.

i love you, take care of yourself,
